Hi, So a little over two weeks ago I went to the hospital for an abnormally high fever with some flu like symptoms. After blood work and a urine sample the only thing they came back with was a possible UTI in which I was put on cipro (2x a day) for a week. During that week I got a period that was played out like a normal cycle but it was only 11 days after my last period. Now, only six days later I'm getting some light bleeding as well as a brown discharge. I am not exactly sure what to make of it, I had sex once in that time period and I'm concerned with what may be going on or if this is normal after taking an antibiotic.

Are you on hormonal birth control? Because sometimes anitbioitics can interfere with it's effectivness and cause breakthrough bleeding. Or, the light spotting and discharge could be from the actual UTI.

That sounds very similar to what happened to me. The light spotting/brown discharge was actually from a UTI I had, and the "abnormal" cycles was due to the anti-biotics. It played out that I had a 3 day period because of my birth control pills, but then the UTI was 2 weeks later and I had another period for about 2 days, though it was very very light while I was on the ant-biotics. So, I ruled it out that it was messing with the BC pills. Nothing odd has happened since.
