You don't have a 6-7 day cycle, you have a 6-7 day period. A cycle is from day 1 of your period, all the way until the first day of your next period. By what you just described, you had a 24-25 day cycle. To find out when you ovulate, you need to track your cycle for a few months, pay attention to your cervical mucous and/or BBT. You can go by ovulation predictor tests from the store as well and start testing around day 12 of your cycle.

Again, it depends on the person, but it is stated on numerous sources that the "average" is days 13-15, I've also been told that number from numerous Dr's. For me personally, I used to ovulate days 16-18 when I had a longer cycle. Since I have a 7 day period, there is no way I'm ovulating days 7-10, but that is my body.

The last six months my cycle is 23-25 days long. I'm ovulating day 11-14, with peak ovulation on day 13.

If you know the signs of ovulation, it isn't that difficult to figure out when you are ovulating.

Cervical mucous - As ovulation approaches, cervical mucus become more abundant, takes on a watery to raw-egg-white-like consistency, and stretches up to an inch or more between your fingers.

Cramping - When ovulating, you may experience some cramping, similar to those of menstrual cramps.

Increased sexual desire - It's kind of like are bodies are saying "Hello - I'm fertile, let's have sex."

BBT - When your BBT raises, you are ovulating and it will stay raised until a few days after ovulation. It is raised because of the hormone progesterone which is at its highest right AFTER ovulation.

The best thing you can do is become familiar with the signs and your body. Your body will tell you, if you pay attention.

You are right LanaBear. All women are different. my cycle is 26 days and i am ovulating usually by the 8th day of my cycle. i do have a very short period tho (3days). but i do know exactly when I am ovulating by the Cervical mucous.
