    i have the same problem...I'm only 16 though so it gets tough. I still don't even know whats wrong with me. But if I wasn't on birth control pills my period would never stop. I actually have noticed that my blood is brighter since this problem began. The doctors said that it could possibly be a small tumor on one of my ovaries, but it wasn't. Maybe that's what it is for you.
    But the difference with me is that when I wasn't on the pill, I would have pains in my stomach that were so bad I had to stop what I was doing and go to the ER. Passing out and throwing up also came along with it. Think about all of the possibilities, and maybe tell your doctor about them. Make sure you don't have any extra stress in your life either.

    I'm just a kid though so no one will really listen lol

          neverending

          I feel your pain. Im 19, not sexually active at the moment, not on birth control and its been 3 weeks and im still on my period. I have normal flow but lots of blood clots and i don't know what to do. It seems that doctors have no idea what this is. I think im going to try the ginger snap thing.

          I started my period when i was about 10 and even since the beginning its been abnormal. I'll be regular for a few months and then i wont have it at all. once i only had two cycles in a year (every 6 months). they say when women live together their cycles link up, i think im the product of that. when i went off to college, i didn't have a period that much, but when i moved back home recently (5 women live in my house) my cycle synced with my mom and sister and hasn't stopped since. i feel helpless.

              I am really glad I found this page. I have had my period for two months straight now and no sign of stopping. This is only the second period i have had this year. I haven't gone to the doctor because I was hoping that it would just go away. It has been really heavy and abnormal but with no pain. Not sure if I should go to the doctor or not?

                I say yes!! go to the Doc Lilyann. I found my way to this website for the same reason. I kept hoping it would stop but next thing I knew, It had been 7 months and still no sign of stopping. I went to the doc, they ran test after test and found nothing wrong with me. A yr later, after still bleeding straight through, they finally put me on birth control for 3 months. It kept me regular. In the mean time I changed my diet, started drinking more water, exercise more and began losing weight. I've been off the BC since July and Happy to say I'm workin my way back to normal. I still run late each month but after the yr I went through, I'm happy with a week or 2 late compared to a yr of bleeding. Are you over weight or have you gained a good amount of weight? I was surprised to find out that fat cells can carry extra hormones which can lead to excess bleeding. everyone is different so go to the doctor and get everything checked out

                  I'm so glad I'm not alone in this. I'm astonished actually... but here's my story. I have had painful periods since the day I got my period. I was finally put on BC when I was younger, and when I got off, my periods were light, lasted a week. Now, several years later, at the tender age of 20, well 19 when the heavy periods came back, not to mention painful, I'm not getting any relief;

                  I was prescribed Seasonique. I went through the terrible side effects.... But My body finally grew adjusted completely! Between the 2nd and 3rd month of taking seasonique, I noticed I had heavy breakthrough bleeding. I called my gyno and he said that I should take 3 pills a day for one week, 2 pills a day for the next week, and then one pill a day for the next week. I did that, but by the fifth day, my period stopped, So I proceeded to go back to my one pill a day.

                  Now, ladies.... I have been on my period for a month and counting.... It started off as being brown in colour, and rather light to medium in flow, though in the 2-3 weeks, it has progressed as how you ladies have described in this post... Heavy, lots of clots.... I go through 6-8 super pads a day! I have been cramping with the periods, as well as headaches, and dizziness, but the cramps are dismal, the headaches come and go, and the dizziness just stays.

                  My Gyno switched me on a different BC pill, called Zenchent. I was on it or a week until I called my gyno up and said, Nope, it's not working. He suggested I come in that day. So I waited in the waiting room, and seeing all these pregnant women made me even more melancholy. I finally was called, and met with the gyno, and he suggested I take 3 pills a day for one week, and so on, like before. Of course, I looked at him with such a disposition. This isn't going to fix anything. But I was eager to try anything.

                  The first day, I was utterly surprised at the results, my period had decreased well into a very light flow... That is, until I woke up with cramps and a new chore on my to do list, clean the bed sheets AND comforter. Darn it!

                  The second day, the same thing. The third day, same thing. Every day the potency of the method diminished steadily each day, until I just went on bleeding heavily regardless of how many BC pills I took.

                  This is such a debilitation, if nothing works, I'm just going to be done with periods all together.

                  I'm calling my doctor today and demanding an app! I'm so fed up with all of this!

                      :s

                      Well, I'm hoping someone can help me. I started my period when I was 14 and my period wasn't exactly on time every month but I had it every month.

                      July this year I decided to get the implant, I started my period in August and I'm still on it! I phoned the doctors after a month and a half of my period and they put me on a three month course of Cerazette Tablets, I have a month and a half left of these and my period doesn't feel like it's letting up at all.

                      I am constantly bleeding, never stopping, and pain almost every day, it's just always there! I'm just wondering how much more blood I can lose! lol!
