3 months with the bean

Now i can at least rest a little.
Im 19 still a virgin, and im almost gone 3 months with a period.
But it's not full on, at the begining it lasted 14 days and then it stopped for two, but it came straight back , another 14 days then its back, but now it has been full on for the past 1 to 2 months, and i wasnt sure why, i also have really huge clots, yesterday it had started to calm down, and this morning looks like it was close to stopping which i was happy about, until i get this unbelieve-able cramps in my stomache, and i go check and im back bright red and heavy.

It doesnt scare me as much now because it's been happening for so long, i know before this a few months back i went 1 month and 16 days with a period, and then nothing, i stopped for something close to 6 - 9 months, and then this.

Im thinking inreggular homones, but ever since i started my period at 13, they havent been inreggular i would get them the same time every month, and would get pains so bad i couldnt move and would have to medicate myself with pain killer after pain killer.

I have made numerous appointments for the doctors, but i always call them off, because ive always been scared of the doctor since i was little, and only ever been once in my life, i think i need to make an appointment and try some stuff out, just face the fears, scared incase im dieing or something.

I'll rest happy when the red sea dissapears and leaves me the heck alone - im also of average weight, although when i was in school age 15 or so i used to be really thin, and over the past 3 years i have slowly gained a slight bit of weight about 1 and a half stone - maybe the weight gain has something to do with it - i guess there's only one way to find out, i dont wanna die young - just waiting for the female doctor to come back in this week - since ill feel more comfortable.

I'm not alone!!

Thank goodness I found this! I've realised I'm not alone!

I've been having my period now for about 6 weeks, and it's really starting to pee me off, and my hubby because our sex life is suffering!

History: I'm 22 now, started my periods when I was 10/11, at which time they were really heavy; went on the pill aged about 12/13 as the doc thought this would make it better; during my period I got really bad pains so the doc put me on something which I had to take everyday of my period (can't remember the name?), it stopped the pains, but it made me sick instead! So I stopped taking both the pill and these tablets about aged 15/16, and my periods were fine - regular, not too heavy; in the last couple of years I've put on a bit of weight, which I figure this could be down to, but my periods have been quite ok up until about the last 3 times I've had them; they've got really heavy and lasted for about 3/4 weeks; at present this is the longest one I have had, and it just feels lke it's never going to stop!

I haven't been to the docs yet as i keep thinking 'maybe it will stop tomorrow', so been putting it off, but it just keeps going on and on and on! So I'm going to make one tomorrow, but I'm not getting my hopes up that they will know what it is after reading some of your comments on here! But, we'll see!

I'm just glad I found this as I don't feel totally alone now!

I'm 22 and I've been on birth control for about 5 years. I stopped them in August because my husband and I want to get pregnant soon. My first period after stopping the pill was normal, 5 days, but was 3 days early. The next period was a week early but also 5 days and stopped. I started spotting with brown discharge in early October, and did so for about a week. The next week I started like my normal period. This all happened two weeks earlier than I was supposed to start. For the week that I spotted I was really bloated but that's all. I've been bleeding ever since October 11, with the exception of maybe 3 days when I thought it was over, but it started right back again. Not a heavy flow, just medium to light with no cramps or clots or anything. Right before I stopped for those few days I had a severe fever in the middle of the night, 101 with racking chills and I was so dizzy and sick the next day I couldn't leave the couch. The next day I was fine, but my period started again. What the heck is going on?! I'm about sick of this!!!

update

Well, I went to the docs on Friday, she asked me loads of questions (is there any chance you could have an sti, be pregnant, etc), then looked down below and took some swabs, which have been sent off to the lab.

Then she sent me to the hospital to have a blood test to see if i am pregnant, which i don't see how i can be, but if i'm not she's going to put me on some medication to try and stop it.

So as of yet i still don't know whats wrong with me, but i have to go back on monday to see about the tests etc, so i'll keep you posted

Ok so im on Yaz, i missed last months period which was odd because ever since ive been on the pill my periods have been regular. I finally got my period and its been going on for about 2 weeks now and its freaking me out...i didnt go to the doctors but im wondering if i should, or is it just this long because i missed last months? should i be concerned?

What is going on?

OK, like many of you I'm glad i'm not the only one that this is happening to. I'm 21 & My story goes like this: I have always had an irregular period, i'd go often 2-3 months w/out it. about 3 yrs ago, I gained weight and my period stopped for a whole YR! The doctor said it was because of the weight gain.. I started having 3,5 or and even 7 month gaps between my period, and my weight had become stabilized. So, finally I decided to go to the GYN because i was worried I had cysts.They run in my family as do Fibroids. They did an ultra sound and blood test and determined that my ovaries looked perfectly normal, but my blood work said I had a hormone imbalance. She prescribed Provera to induce my period, and once I started it I was supposed to start the pill. So I did, I took the provera, got it 4 days after i finished the 5 pills and started Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo on the day of my first period.... WELL, let me say that i have had my period the whole month since I started this treatment. I'm guessing it's because of the pills so i'm debating if i should even go on to the second pack... I enjoyed not having my period instead of this monthlong torture.. sigh, we'll see what happens.

I can't take it anymore! Help!


I have been looking all over for someone else who is going through the same thing! Will it ever end? I have had my period near constant for 3 months with bouts of "spotting" in between for a few days. Every time I think it's over..woo there it is again. I'm 22 years old and have always had a weird period. It would be normal every month flow then suddenly disappear for a month only to come back at odd times. It has never lasted this long before though. What causes it? When I was in highschool my gyno said I had PCOS but I think he may have mixed me up with my sister since we saw the same dr. I was on BC for a few months during that time but it didn't do anything. Is anyone else experiencing mood swings? I'm not pregnant or anything but it seems like unending PMS. .....I have decent health insurance but cannot afford the copayments so I haven't made an appointment to see anyone. I am scared and have no family around to consult. What do I do? Is anyone else also experiencing infertility prior to this problem? My mother had 4 daughters and my 3 sisters have all gotten pregnant without a hitch but I cannot no matter how much I tried to before. I also get hot and cold flashes all day and night so you can guess how much sleeping goes on. It's so hard to get up to go to work because I'm so worn out from all this. Please help. I'm at my wits end and it's tearing my relationship to pieces.

problems with period....

ok i'm 42 i have been told through countless ultrasounds that i have 1 cyst on each ovary i also have small fibriods. my right side ovary cyst is the largest and has been paining me for 8 months now i have alot of brownish discharge and alot of pain. my specialist put me on the pill for 6 months which i just started and i'm almost finished the 1st pack on this sunday. well 2 weeks into the pill i got such bad bad cramps was taking tynole 3 for the pain, period started brownish red first then got really heavy with clots and was still very dark brownish red, had that for 1 week this week its bright red and still heavy. i've been told to lose weight and that my problem will go away...my dr told me i have alot of i think he said estrogen and it feeds off the fatty tissue and grows the cysts he said if i loss weight this problem will disappear, along with taking the pill...i just went to see him on monday and he told me to get a 2nd apinion not sure why? i think my family dr talk to him well i know he did so i'm not sure whats going on...so now i'm confused...i only have been going back and forth to the dr because of the very bad pain i've been having it started on the rightside and now it's in my vagina it will achne and have very bad cramps along with the cyst pain. anyone else have this problem? also the period doesn't seem to be stopping i have never had it this long before only after i had my kids i did last month i skipped the period and it's was before i started the pill help????

Reading all of your posts is so comforting! I'm 17 and have been on my peiod for about 2 1/2 months. I'm 100% a virgin, have no history of problems, and am not overweight. I go in to see my doctor for the first time tomorrow. I'm very nervous! I started my period when I was 11 and have had irregular periods ever since. No one else in my family has ever had irregular periods. They've all been able to mark it to the hour. It will be 6 years this February. Now, I'm under the impression that irregular periods stop after about 3 years. I'm so scared. My friend had similar problems last summer, but she is 18 and has had a miscarriage. She found out she has a sideways uterus and may not be able to have children. I'm scared to death that this will happen to me. I'm only 17, a junior in high school. Why me?
