    Essure gone wrong!

    Good morning ladies,

I wanted to share my horrible experience with the Essure procedure. This past Friday morning, I was admitted for outpatient surgery for Essure. My Dr. told me the risks of the coil going into the abdomen, but assured me that this NEVER happens. I was taken in and then after, in recovery, I was bleeding terribly on my right side. I had horrible pain. My Dr. came in and when she pressed on the right side, I would bleed a lot. After an ultrasound, my Dr. made the decision to take out my fallopian tubes. I was rushed to the Hospital to have the tubes and coils removed. My Dr. did not follow, she put me in the hands of someone else. I went in for a second surgery,, invasive this time. The Dr. cut me open and looked at everything and decided to clamp my tubes instead of removing them. So, when I woke up, I had incisions, clamps and coils. I was released from the hospital with assurance that all was fine. Once home, the severe pain in my right side returned. I tried to take the pain meds to no avail. Because I am not a pain med taker, I knew that if those weren't working, something was wrong. My boyfriend rushed me back to the hospital at midnight and I was admitted for pain management. Early the next morning, my Dr. called and decided to do a 3rd surgery to remove the right coli. She said that this could turn out to be a full hysterectomy if the coil had punctured anything in my uturus. I went in for a 3rd surgery in 24 hours and the coil on the right side was straight and puncturing. She removed the coil and did xrays for metal fragments. Now I am just lost, I have one coil in, clamps, and I am still in pain. I have to be off work and I am so confused as to why all this happened. DONT HAVE ESSURE LADIES! NOT WORTH IT!

    Thanks for the warning.

Unfortunately there are Risks with everything we do in life and nothing can be a certainty.

As a rule of thumb I try to avoid anything remotely close to surgery or hospitals in that matter unless it is absolutely necessary.

You don't really want to be messing with your biological system like that just because it has been "approved" ------- My car was approved and broke down within 2 weeks. Just be careful what you are putting in your body. There are other safer forms of contraception that do not need surgery.

Even typing that word gives me the shivers.

I sincerely hope you get better soon and wish you a speedy healthy recovery.
I am going to tell you what you don't want to hear!
Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I had the Essure implants and walked out with less discomfort than a pap smear. I hope that you find some relief and answers as to what happened.

      Best wishes,
      Leslie

I HAD MY ESSURE PROCEDURE DONE 2 YEARS AGO. it seemed like a ideal procedure to do but i have been in constant pain every since. Last year i went to a emergency room and found out my liver is enlarged and for 2 years nobody can tell me why, my right side is constantly hurting lower back pain, and my periods seem to come every 14 days, cramping during my period is severe, migraines, NO SEX DRIVE, insomnia i have developed diabetes as well. I was unable to go for the HSG test my insurance was cancelled after i had my last son so i really dont know if my tubes are blocked at all. Has anyone had liver problems after having essure im convinced this procedure is causing my health problems. wish i never had this procedure done at all.
