Vagina problem and itching and its driving my wife and I nuts.

Hello ladies. I appreciate yall are trying to help me in the very best in my marriage, but it hasn't gotten worst. These past couple of days I've been trying to get my wife into a doctor to have someone to take a look in her vagina. Well today I took her to the urgent care and she doesn't want to seen by men doctors who looks at her vagina. She is ashamed to let the American men to look in her vagina. The hospital says they're booked until June 1st and my wife couldn't wait that long. Last time I looked it was bright red swallon I think. I'm not a doctor, but I can't be sure about these things. I also couldn't find any primary ladies doctor in my area. I have a final exam next week and I couldn't be sitting here and watch her scratch her vagina in the room and hear her winning. So do you think I have to take her to the ER. She's about to exploded and so am I. Please for the love of god help me and tell me what to do! I also brought her the Monostats 7 the cream to put inside the vagina. Its not helping. When it leaks out it itches on the outside of the vagina too.

by the way she doesn't have insurance.

if it is that bad tell her to get over it and have a male doctor look over it! jeeze.... its not that big of a deal!!!! i have been going to a male doctor for most of my life... also if she tells them her symptoms they might not even have to look and just prescribe her medication. the longer she waits the worst it will get - it does sound like a yeast infection though... but something it takes a few doses or prescription medication from a doctor to cure...

I'm going through a migraine right now. She told me that she is going to wait until Monday where she goes to this Chinese women doctor. I mean for the love of god this is America. Almost all doctors are men and hardly any women doctors.

Sounds like she probably does have a bad yeast infection, and a doctor will give her some Diflucan or something similar and it will be gone in no time.

Has she been on any antibiotics recently?

Bear with her. I've never had one, but LOTS of women get yeast infections and they are NO fun at all. Imagine your penis and scrotum burning and itching like it's on fire. Hurts when you sit down, hurts when you pee, hurts when you wear clothes, hurts and itches all the time. Not to mention the discharge is foul smelling and unpleasant, along with the intense itching that would drive anyone insane. Be patient with her and count your lucky stars it's not you dealing with it.

Tell her that if it is a yeast infection and she doesn't get it taken care of, it can (and does) spread to other parts of the body and is VERY miserable. Encourage her to get into the doctor, and everything will be fine.

not to mention she can also spread it to you...

In addition, you also might want to be checked just so you are on the safe side. Likewise, while still on limbo about the female doctor, go ahead and book her an appointment with one even if it's still far off. Having her record in their file would help a lot for future issues, besides, most OB-GYN offices do not accept walk-ins or new patients on short notice. In the meantime, do support her in her quest for the female doc at the Chinese women's clinic. I am Asian and I have never been checked by a male doctor down there - but i do listen to my body very keenly and book my OB-GYN appointments ahead of time even if there is nothing wrong with me (when I was just transitioning countries/states - a new patient).

Do not use harsh detergents on her underwear when washing, nor use soap on her vagina, not even a vaginal wash as it alters the pH in there. Just have her use lukewarm water to wash herself and that's it. As for the underwear, I hand wash mine as soon as I take them off and I change/wash myself 3 times a day (yes, even when at work).

Does she experience difficulty in urination as well? How much is her discharge - have her take note of the color, odor and level and specific spot of discomfort, if it is itching only or what else. If you could, just to be thorough, get an appointment also with a female urologist.

Have her consume some products with lactobacillous. Take note of the following possible allergens/causes:

*too frequent sex / repeated intercourse over a short period of time
*the fabric of her underwear (should be cotton)
*chemical irritants (colored toilet paper, scented/softened underwears, use of tampons/pads with deodorants, bubble baths)
            *emotional stress
            *use of antibiotics
            *birth control pills
*type of diet (high sugar in the diet throws off a woman's ability to fight off excess yeast growth)
            also, (DO NOT DOUCHE)

Read the book: Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom by Christiane Northrup, MD if you want specifics.

            Remember:

Anything that disrupts the pH balance (bacterial balance) of the vagina can result to an infection. (from the book I mentioned above)

She needs to get over her fear of someone looking at her. Take her to a good gynocologist and explain that they look at womens vaginas all day long. It's their specialty. There is nothing they don't see on a daily basis. The sooner she gives in and lets someone take a look, the sooner she will get better.
