My doctor told me it's a vagina treatment, it's a vitamin. So, I don't think it's a cure for either, but a treatment that helps to restore what is messed up in my vagina. The problem is I am having a HARD time finding it. I've gone to almost every pharmacy and they tell me that they don't have it and they can't order it b/c it's hard to get. One pharmacist said to me "Oh wow, AVC cream, that's an oldie but goodie, I don't think I'll be able to get it." On pharmacist called my doctor and asked her if she wanted me on another type of medicine, but my doctor said no, she only wants me on that treatment. There are 2 more pharmacies that I haven't tried, and one of them said they are pretty good at getting hard to find medicines. So, I'm trying to get my hands on this, and I will keep ya'll updated.

Has anyone ever been prescribed flagyl oral and metrogel vaginally together at the same time? I'm just wondering if it would work if they are taken together from both ends.

Has anyone ever been prescribed Fem pH? I just found it online and I have never heard of it....I wonder if it would work taken with oral antibiotics.

          Rx Only

Description: Fem pH Vaginal Jelly is a bland, non-irritating water dispersible, buffered acid jelly for intravaginal use. Fem pH is classified as a Vaginal Therapeutic Jelly. Fem pH contains 0.9% glacial acetic acid (C2H4O2) and 0.025% oxyquinoline sulfate (C18H16N2O6S) compounded with glycerin, lactic acid, polyethylene glycol 4500 and purified water. Fem pH is formulated to pH 3.8 - 4.3 and is adjusted using 1N potassium hydroxide.

Clinical Pharmacology: Fem pH acts to restore and maintain normal vaginal acidity through its buffered action.

Indications And Usage: Fem pH is indicated as adjunctive therapy in those cases where restoration and maintenance of vaginal acidity is desirable.

          Contraindications: None known.

Warnings: No serious adverse reactions or potential safety hazard have been reported with the use of Fem pH.

Precautions: General: No special care is required for the safe and effective use of Fem pH. Drug Interactions: No incidence of drug interactions has been reported with concomitant use of Fem pH and any other medication. Laboratory Tests: The monitoring of vaginal acidity (pH) may be helpful in following the patient's response. (The normal vaginal pH has been shown to be in the range of 4.0 to5.0). Carcinogenesis: No long-term studies in animals have been performed to evaluate carcinogenic potential. Pregnancy: Pregnancy Category C. Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with Fem pH. It is not known whether Fem pH can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or can affect reproduction capacity. Fem pH should be given to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed. Nursing Mothers: It is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when Fem pH is administered to a nursing woman.

Adverse Reactions: Occasional cases of local stinging and burning have been reported.

Dosage and Administration: The usual dose is one applicator full, administered intra-vaginally, morning and evening. Duration of treatment may be determined by the patient's response to therapy. Each tube has a tamper evident seal at the opening of the tube. Replace cap after each use. To fill applicator screw applicator clockwise onto the tube. Squeeze tube forcing Fem pH jelly into barrel until it is full. Then unscrew applicator counter-clockwise to remove from tube. Lie on your back with knees drawn up. Hold filled applicator by the barrel and gently insert it into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go. Press plunger to empty the contents. Keep the plunger depressed and remove the applicator from vagina. After each use pull applicator apart and wash with warm soapy water, rinse well, dry and reassemble.

How Supplied: 50g Tube with Fem pH applicator.

WARNINGS: Keep this and all medication out of the reach of children.

Ok so I developed my yeast infection, the discharge was very much like wet toilet paper, my doctor said that was the start of it, so I used the terazol which made it worse. It turned into a full blown yeast infection with so much discharge. Two days after finishing the terazol I saw no signs of improvement, then my period came. My period stopped last week and I didnt see any type of discharge during it, well after my period went away the toilet paper discharge came back. I took a diflucan pill Saturday morning. I've never used a pill to treat a yeast infection. I'm on my 2nd day with the pill in my system, yesterday the discharge was pretty much gone, now today I'm getting a runny discharge with a metallic odor. OH NO!!!!! I'm hoping it isn't the start of what I think it is. I've been taking the acidophilus to prevent this monster from coming back. I don't know what this metallic odor could mean, OMG!!!!!!

Also, I don't know if the metallic odor is just my body cleaning itself after my period, but I still don't know how to explain the runny discharge, did anyone who took diflucan experience a discharge after taking it? I'm wondering if that the remainder of the yeast coming out.

                    discharge after diflucan

Three days after taking diflucan I started to get a heavy discharge. No odor, no itching, nothing that resembles an infection. I really believe my body is relieving itself of yeast too. I had a LOT of muscle pain and joint pain these past days and since the discharge even that is going away. I was diagnosed with lyme back in 99' and took tons of antibiotics. I'm taking diflucan because a German doctor had lyme went on diflucan and all lyme symptoms vanished. I went to my doctor and showed him the site. Diflucan stops an enzyme produced by the borreliosis bacteria therfore rendering it useless and it stops producing. Allowing your body to stop the inflammation process. Therefore, allowing it to heal. I hope this helps anyone out there searching for help with lyme pain. God knows I've had tons of pain for 10 years and now I am starting to feel better. Good luck!

Well, just took my 2nd dose of Diflucan, this is the yeast infection that won't quit. UGH!!!! Then I told my stupid *** ex boyfriend about my prescription for AVC cream. I didn't go into detail with him but told him it was b/c my pap came back abnormal, so he tells me abnormal paps means HPV and he knows b/c he's a biology major and they learned about that. He made me sooooooo mad, b/c I'm thinking no it's b/c I had BV when I got the pap done. MEN HAVE NO IDEA!!!! I'm just annoyed.
