An update after seeing a RE today

I went to my first RE appt. today and the RE was great & super sweet. She gave me a prescription for Metformin and Provera. She suggested that I take Provera every other month and I can start Metformin as soon as I go pick it up. She did say that I should get more excise and cut down on my carbs and hopefully when I go back to see her in July all my levels are down and then we will discuss a fertility plan. She also advised me to take a pregnancy test before taking Provera. Is it possible to get pregnant while only taking Metformin? I thought thats where Clomid came in? IDK. Can anybody share what you know about Metformin and getting pregnant? As I was looking online in some cases women got pregnant on there first month of taking it! I want a baby but after reading that it could happen so quick. I need some time to prepare myself! lol

yep, its possible to start ovulating just taking Metformin alone. I didn't ovulate at all until the RE added Metformin to the other stuff I was on. I got pregnant the first time I ended up ovulating the entire time we were trying. So it's possible. ha ha. At least you are aware it could happen very suddenly now... I was taken completely by surprise ;-)

I guess this kind of answers my other post. Thanks! I have been on the internet reading up on Metformin and found lots of women who were suprised how fast they got pregnant. I hope to be one of them!
