Transvaginal ultrasound scan - unbearable pain

I'm incredibely worried about this. I have to have a transvaginal scan in a few weeks to try and investigate why I haven't had a period in over a year and a half.

Last year, I had an appointment for the same scan. I went along to the hospital and just couldn't go through with it as the pain was unbearable.

Does anyone know if it is possible to be given tranqualizers or anything really that would enable me to have this scan without feeling the pain?

I've had a few of them, but they haven't been uncomfortable for me.

Your best bet would be to ask your Dr if anything can be given.

I've had 4 of them. They ranged from mildly uncomfortable to extremely painful. I think it depends on how hard it is to get the image they want.
