    unusual "reaction"????

I will start with saying i hope this is in the right section

i have been on the pill for about 2.5 years... so not new to it. If it helps im 25.

I have been reliably taking the pill for more than 40 days straight (not uncommon for me to deliberately miss period using the pill, recommended by doctor). But..... i have suddenly started my period out of the blue.

The only thing that i can think that might have caused it to appear, is that i had sex last week...... (not first time i have had sex, but first time i have been close to orgasm )

May sound bizarre, but has anyone had similar experiences with the pill being affected in this way or should i be looking at another possible cause???

    Thanks

It is called breakthrough bleeding. It is possible at any point in a cycle even if you are taking the active pills, your body basically says it is going to have some bleeding and then it does. No way to predict it.
