    Deformity?

Hello! First-time poster here. I very recently purchased a Diva Cup, but on using it for the first time yesterday, I was met with a lot of discomfort to the point of pain because believe it or not, it was too big, and could not open the entire way even though it was inserted as far as it could go (which still left the tab on the bottom sticking out).

I had realized before that some things didn't seem right on the inside, but on some investigation, I'm concerned I might have a deformity. From everything I have read, the vagina is supposed to be more or less a circular tube. But on me, it's much more like a tube someone has stepped on and it hasn't bounced back from. It's quite wide in the sides, yet there is almost no depth in the other direction (along the anterior and posterior walls). There also seems to be a bunch of weird, bumpy flesh attached to the inside of the front of my pelvis that covers half of the underside of my hymen that doesn't help matters.

Is something wrong? If so, is it fixable, and how would it affect childbirth? I haven't had sex before, but now I'm worried it either won't be possible without surgery or without a considerable amount of pain. Help, please?

I'm not surprised at all that the Diva Cup seemed too big considering you haven't had sex and most likely have an intact hymen.

The "weird bumpy flesh" sounds quite normal. It should feel somewhat spongy, not totally smooth and slick. It does feel a bit bumpy.

If I were you, to ease my mind, I would see a gynecologist. I expect you'll find you're quite normal. But if not, he/she can help you to understand if there is deformity and what it means, and how to deal with it.

You misunderstood what I meant, but thanks anyway.

If she misunderstood you, could you explain further what kind of information you were looking for?

If you were looking for reassurance on the shape of your vaginal canal, it sounded perfectly normal to me. Women are going to vary. Your vagina will change in size and shape as your hymen wears away, you have intercourse, and go through childbirth. It stretches out and bounces back.

Ditto what Little said. Sometimes it is hard to get the exact idea of something through typing, but we sure do our best here to understand and respond.

You made it sound like your vagina was "collapsed". It doesn't sound abnormal for someone who has never had intercourse.

You said your diva cup was too large. That also sounds perfectly normal for someone who has never had intercourse.

You said your vaginal wall felt like "Weird bumpy flesh". I responded that it's normal for it to feel a bit bumpy and spongy.

Then...I told you to go see a doctor to ease your mind. Perhaps that's the part you didn't like. And quite honestly, no one online is going to see your vagina up close and personal like a doctor would so that he/she may actually see if there is a deformity, rather than guessing based on your description.
