Preparing for my period
I am about to enter the 8th grade, and i know that i am going to start my period very soon. I starting getting slightly fatter and having cramps. I dont want to start school with every laughing at me, i know they tell us this in school but how do I prepare for my period? Take pads i know, but heavy and light? I dont really want tampons because my mother is no longer around to show me how to use them and my dad might not know... should i take extra pants it would be silly walking to the bathroom carring pants. Ummm, just some advice would help. Thank you so much!! -
Are you saying you've never had a period before? Or that you just don't know how to prepare at school yet?<center><i>Nature gives us shapeless shapes,<br>Clouds and waves and flame,<br>But human expectation is that love remains the same,<br>And when it doesn’t, we point our fingers and blame.</i><br><a href="http://www.womens-health.com/boards/register.php">Register</a>|<a href="http://www.womens-health.com/boards/members/little.html">Contact Admin</a>|<a href="mailto:support*womens-health.com?subject=Forum Contact">Email Admin</a></center> -
i think shes saying shes awaiting her first period and wants to know how to go about dealing with it when shes at school.
hide some pads in your school bag, the regular ones but the ones they promote/advertise on tv as the ones that are more comfortable under clothes. sorry to hear that your dealing with this alone, even if u had help with tampons it took me years to get the hang of them and i just stuck to pads til i was around 16, i tried to direct my sister with tampons but she still couldnt get it to be comfortable. if u do want to give them a crack after a few months (or straight away) buy the extra small size, theyre still very absorbent but smaller and therefore easier to use.
if u feel like u could be having it, excuse yourself and go to the bathroom its not hard to discreetly put a pad in your pocket out of your school bag or locker, even the regular ones thesedays are pretty small in the packet.
another idea is to maybe wear pantyliners (theyre like UBER thin pads) they wont absorb much but theyll protect your undies everyday til u get your period. if im not sure if mines on time ill wear pantyliners just cos im sick of mistiming my period and ruining undies.
goodluck!
If I knew where I was going I would already be there
I wish I had more time. Judicious, beautiful, augmented, whatever.
