    I have a question... Help ?

Alright. So I've been having a minor issue. At least one which I think is minor.
A lot of people have been telling me I'm stupid for even worrying about this, but it is actually really bothering me and I just want to feel peace of mind on the issue.

On September 5th, my boyfriend & I were fooling around I guess you could say. I haven't had sex, but a certain amount of precum may or may have not gotten around my vulva area, or near vagina.. whatever. Anyway, I proceeded to freak out about the proximity of pregnancy causing issues! It's more like a 1 in 1000 chance people have been saying, but it's been bothering me. I figured I'd just wait til my period.

Today, the 15th, my period started. Usually it starts around the 20th or 22nd, but it coming a little early is not unusual, right?
Anyway, I noticed when it first started this afternoon that it's kinda watery, blood is brown and with brown mucus. This is unusual for me, I think. But I had cramps like normal and now, tonight, the blood is bright red, but it still seems more mucusy than usual.

The reason I'm freaking out is I googled watery period and there were a number of articles concerning pregnancy periods like so.

Honestly, do I have anything to worry about??

I bought two cheap dollar store pregnancy tests today which I plan to take in the morning. But I just wanted some extra opinions on it.

All my girlfriends have said I'm worrying for no reason, but it's like that 1% possibility freaking me out. Am I being irrational?

    Thanks for any help!!

No two periods are the same. Some will come sooner and some later, some more dark some more light, some more spotting some more clotting, some are thin some are more mucus-like, the variation is normal. Brown substance is just uterine lining without the blood, along with old blood. Sometimes your body decides to bleed but it does not get discharged right away which means it will be left in the uterus to essentially oxidize and become brown. It is normal, it happens to all women at some point.

As for precum simply being on your skin down below there, the odds of that turning into a pregnancy are slimmer than slim. A sperm needs to travel into the vagina, into the uterus, and into a fallopian tube to meet up with an ovulated egg. All those structures are not located on the outside of your body (I hope).

Even if you were, against all odds, pregnant it will not show up on a test for a few weeks. The hormone the pregnancy test detects called HCG does not attain high enough levels until at least 19 days. Even then it is a hit and miss for many women because HCG still is not at the same levels at the same time for all women. Also, if you are to buy a test try to stick with the non dollar store brands as they can be of much less quality simply due to them being so cheap.

Honestly there is not much you have to worry about. You have not yet had actual sex, the precum is debatable as to whether or not it even contains sperm, you have got your period, and you are experiencing typical period symptoms. I know it is difficult but it is highly unlikely that you are pregnant.

thanks so much for helping me out. (:
So taking a pregnancy test would be useless right now completely?
And it just got put in my mind about how-- it only takes 1 sperm to make it up there, blah.. blah..
As for a tiny secondary question, the things we did happened in the shower that day. Would the water make all of that even less of a chance?

And this makes me feel much better. Thank you again!

If it eases your mind by taking one then it is not useless.

Very much so. The possibility of that single sperm staying on your skin while rushing water is all over the place is beyond slim to none.
