I fell like something is seriously wrong!

I've been in the worst pain of my life for the last 7 days. I've been having major cramps and passing blood clots regularly. The clots keep getting bigger and are now a little larger than a quarter. I'm not even really "supposed" to be on my period. I'm on birth control and have never had breakthrough bleeding to this extent. I started bleeding (very dark & heavy) last week and after 2 days stopped. Then the next morning started as heavy and painful as before. I really can't even describe the level of pain. I'm worried because things are only getting worse and I wouldn't be able to call a doctor for like 2 days.

I know my body and something just seems different and wrong right now.

    Any insight? Thanks

Why can't you call your doctor for 2 days? The general rule of thumb is to see a doctor whenever you have a heavy flow for more than 7 days.

I'm sorry I'm not sure what this could be. Keep us posted on how you go... Take it easy and stay in bed until you can see your doc...!

      Welcome CaliRose,

When it's not time for your period and you are getting large clots it can sometimes be an infection or a sign of other things like endometriosis or PCOS.

There can be huge discomfort and it can cause you to bleed. If you are in this much pain and the blood is bright red you need to be seen right away, can you go to a hospital?

If the blood is not bright red and is brown spotting, you still need to be seen as soon as possible.

You could also be having a mis-carriage? Are you sexually active/

        Update

Hey guys, thanks for your replies. My doctor won't be open until Monday, but I think I decided to go to Urgent Care. They're open weekends and the pain kept me up all night. The pain isn't as horrible as last night, but it's still there and I'm still bleeding, so it's vetter to be safe. I'm also on my way to get a pregnancy test because as much as I want to deny that I could ever get pregnant after being so careful, right now isn't the time for that.

Ive been getting the symptoms you are getting, and the pain is so unbearable that I almost vomit with it.
I am actually terrified to get my period again I am dreading it big time.
I get fevers, headaches, and really bad pelvic pain and lower back pain with it. Do you get all those too?

I am worried about my period aswell but I'm not too sure what it could be sorry hopefully it will go away but then Ive had it for the last three or four periods now.

I dread getting my period too. Taking birth control has helped regulate them, but the pain is still unbearable. I don't have back aches or feel nauseous, but I feel like I'm having labor contractions (I've never had a baby, but I can assume what I'm feeling isn't too far off). I went to urgent care Sunday night but since I wasn't in any pain the doc just wrote a prescription for the cramps. However, when I got home the cramps and bleeding came back 10x worse. I couldn't sleep through the night. She recommended that I get an ultrasound if I feel any discomfort within the next few days. BUT my GYN takes least a month to get an appointment. And it's also weird that my pain/bleeding will stop for a day and start heavy the very next day.

Anyway, today isn't too bad...just mild cramps and blood. Since I can't get an appointment soon, I'm just going to the ER to get an ultrasound. Something tells me although I feel good now, the pain is going to come back and I refuse to deal with this all over again when I get my next period.

Yes I am the same my period will stop an come back during my period and sometimes I think its over and wear no protection and them bam its back again and it really annoys me because I think its over with an then its not grrrrrr. I do think it feels like labour pains and I havnt had kids but my family and friends say I act like I am in labour with it. Its so horrible and I cant deal with it.

If the pill helps then I will go on it but I dont like the period pain its too much for me to handle

Hoe everything gets better for you too.
