    Douching while on Menstral

some one asked me why they can't douche at the end of their period. for whatever reason it makes them feel cleaner and she thinks it makes it go away faster. She says she only does it at the end when the "brown stuff" you know the end of the period is there. I'm posting because I really don't know the answer to the question. Some doctors tell me it's not bad to do it ever so often others tell me not to do it at all....so whats the concencous

Your not supposed to do it at all because it messes up the pH balance in your vagina, and can cause increase in yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis or just a plain bad odor. Which is also why your not supposed to use scented soaps down there either. Just clean with plain water.

I've always douched after my period and have zero problems at all. I use the plain water and vinegar douche. Like I said, I would do it once a month, after my period. I've done it for years. However, everybody will react different. I'm lucky enough to not be very susceptible to yeast infections or UTI's. It's been years since I've had one and I can probably count on one hand how many I have actually had.
