long, stringy, white, "blood clot" ? help please !
Okay, so I just this month started taking the pill (and taking it right for once, not missing a day and normally taking it the same time, everyday) and noticed that my period was a little later from last months which had started around September 21st. But I just got to the last row of the bc so I wasnt too worried. For the past few days Ive been having some brown discharge and today finally got my normal period. It was a little heavy, nothing too serious though.. then came the cramps and these are probably the worst cramps I've ever had. And I just went to the restroom and had a few little clots, the normal, but then noticed a very long string of blood hanging down almost touching the water... it shocked and scared me a little so I took a closer looked and noticed that half of it was a whitish gray color but still covered in blood. The other half was a bit "bumpy" looking almost. I'm sorry if this makes no sense I'm trying to explain the best I can. I've never seen anything like this before and I'm a little nervous. Any thoughts ? Anything is appreciated ! -
Brown is old blood, it is normal. The weird looking thing is general discharge. When you have your period it is often mucus + blood and not just blood. So it is possible to have long strings of pale colored mucus secretions tinged with blood. It is normal. It becomes abnormal when the color becomes green, yellow, or any different color that could signify an infection. There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
