Clinical Trials for a REAL cure for BV and where/why to BUY L. CRISPATUS

LISTEN UP EVERYONE! I've been doing some research, and I honestly don't think that Acidophilus is what we should be taking. According to the research, a lacto bacteria called L.crispatus is what we should be trying to replenish ourselves with instead. This is because a healthy woman's vagina is crawling with L. crispatus, which is one of the many good bacterias found in the vagina. It produces h2o2 and L. acidophilus does not. There is a company that is working hard to get pure L. crispatus suppositories on the market. But,in the meantime, I only found one probiotic supplement that contains L. crispatus. bacterialvaginosisdiary If anyone tries this out, please let us all know how it goes. I'm waiting on mine to arrive in the mail any day now.

I've read everywhere about how the H2O2 douche works great for alleviating the smell & discharge, but does it eliminate the dreadful, painful itching?

I was always told using a douche was bad so I never will but I do take Acidophilus tablets (probiotics) everyday which is essential for women's vaginal health.

              BV

Thank you so much for sharing your experience strength & hope. I had never even heard of BV until I was diagnosed 3 months ago. I have been through 2 rounds of antibiotics. The first round gave me an awful yeast infection. During the second round I took acidophilus probiotics and didn’t get a yeast infection, but I wasn’t cured either. I stayed bv free for about a month & it was back again. I had sex with my boyfriend didn’t have any issues the first few weeks after the antibiotic and then a week or so later, the BV was back. For some reason sperm & soap make the “fish smell” more intense. Every day I had cramping, discharge, foul odor. I wasn’t sure what to do. I read on line that I could insert acidophilus pills into my vagina. The first time I tried this, the capsule stayed whole & came out of my vagina the next day. I researched more & found a blog about emptying out the capsule, adding a little bit of water, creating a thick paste, then inserting into my vagina. That seemed to work, for a week or so, and then the BV was back. I take acidophilus pills every morning and every night, and b12 & folic acid every morning. I found your comments & decided to try the hydrogen peroxide douche. I don’t think I put in enough hydrogen peroxide, but not sure) I douched & then inserted the paste created from emptying out an acidophilus cap & mixing with a tiny bit of water. I woke up the next morning feeling the best I have felt in months. No cramping, no discharge. WOW. I felt like a new woman. The next day (today) I have a little bit of discharge, but no odor. I think I will try to douche again tonight & insert acidophilus paste. I will post tomorrow or the next day & let you know how I am feeling. Thanks so much for sharing. I am hoping that this second treatment will help. Thank you thank you. Yesterday was awesome. I am excited to potentially have more than one day next time.

I am new to this forum. I used this site to get comfort (and information) about my CHRONIC bv/yeast/Group B strep vaginal infections. UGH. I have been suffering with it for over 5 YEARS! And, I just couldn't find a solution.

It took me that long - 5 years - to finally control the problem. First, I put my faith in doctors, somehow I wanted them to help me because I felt so helpless. But they couldn't.

Hopelessness took control of me, and I sat in that state for years. I gave little thought to solving the situation and just wallowed in the revolving door of infections, doctor's visits, researching herbal remedies and cures, and so on and so on...

Somehow, in the last few months, I started taking control of the situation. What inspired me to do so, after all of these years, is a mystery! Just the general changes I'm slowly making in life, progress is slow, and it's finally caught up with me and my BV problem.

I want to tell you, if you've suffered from chronic BV/ yeast/ GBS, here is a potential solution that might help. It's helped me be free of infections for almost 6 months! I've gotten cultured recently and both times NEGATIVE for all those pesky little organisms that formerly predominated in the vaginal regions of my body...

The answer for me has been douching with Hydrogen Peroxide. Followed by insertion immediately of acidopholus capsules. I've gotten cultured a few times after doing this and it's always negative. I love seeing the words, "Normal Vaginal Flora" in the pathologists report!

HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! I think I've got this problem beat!

The trick is not to douche too much, because it can cause inflammation of the vaginal tissue and cervix. My pap revealed a slight inflammation of the cervix cells, and I think this is why: Whenever I douched, I used my vaginal muscles to pull the liquid and retain it, in the upper portion of the vagina, i.e. the cervix. I have a feeling I douched too often with the mixture, and perhaps made it a little too potent. Hence, it caused the inflammation. It was good to have the PAP report confirm the inflammation so I know to ease back on the douching.

I used to do it twice a week but don't recommend it in light of the slight inflammation it's causing. I will do it once in awhile. If i see the discharge coming, then I will do it once and insert the capsule but otherwise, I'm leaving my vagina alone!

I can't believe it works! I tried everything before from inserting garlic cloves whole, to Clindesse, to Metro-Gel, to oral metronidazole, to specially-made ampicillin suppositories, to estrogen rings, to vaginal estrogen tablets - OH MY GOD. I've spent a small fortune on this problem. There is such a huge market of products the pharmaceutical industry is making for women's vaginal health, and I found a very simple, uncostly solution in the end.

Basically, I believe there's 3 steps a woman whose suffering chronic infections needs to take:

              1. Kill the Pathogens.

(I did this with the H2O2 douche - about a quart of distilled water plus about 3 or a little more tablespoons of Hydrogen peroxide which can be purchased at the drug store. It comes in a 3% solution standard.)

              2. Replenish the Good Bacteria

(I did this with vaginal acidopholus capsules made by Nature's Remedy, I believe. Generally, specialized whole foods or health stores have them.)

              3. Maintenance (same steps as above, really).

I hope this solution helps and works for others.

Thank you for letting me share my experience and hope.

                Gynatren tablets contain boric acid!

Heads up on these tablets. Boric acid is a poisonous chemical contained in Gy-Na-Tren tablets. The reason they are not sold in the US is probably a safety concern. Although the remedy makes sense, you can slowly poison yourself with boric acid, so please reconsider using these tablets to treat your condition. Go to med line plus and search boric acid to see the details. I am unable to post a working link for some reason. Hope this helps.

Did you talk to the doctor about inserting peroxide into your vagina? Did they say it was safe?
