    Allergic Reaction or something else?

So I was at the OB-GYN for my annual yesterday and she was concerned over unusual discharge, a discoloration somewhere down there (don't remember exactly where she said) as well as multiple sores in my vagina (I think she also said there was a cut or tear somewhere down there as well?). The yeast infection came back negative and she said it may be a pH imbalance and to try using rephresh. But this I believe only addresses the strange discharge issue and am still waiting to hear back on other tests.

I'm not sure how long the bumps have been there because I didn't notice them until the doctor mentioned them. I've been having sex at least once a week with the same man for the past few months and he promised me he was clean (although I suppose he could be lying) and I figured he'd have noticed/felt all those bumps down there during intercourse (last time I had sex before this appointment was one week prior)

I suddenly realized earlier today that, whereas before I always just cleaned my vagina with warm water, about 1 1/2-2 weeks ago I started using a vaginal wash and I'm wondering if I've had an allergic reaction. I remember being a kid a I had to stop taking bubble baths because my vagina would get so red and irritated, and that was just sitting in the tub...with the new wash I was putting it on a washcloth and putting it "up there" and cleaning (which now I realize I think you were only supposed to do the outer vagina) so I'm really wondering (and hoping!) that I maybe just had a bad allergic reaction/contact dermatitis?

It could be an allergic reaction, but if you're not experiencing any irritation or unusual itching then I highly doubt it is.

Hopefully your STD tests come back negative and your doctor can narrow it down to something else. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Consider it a lesson learned....unless you KNOW a man is clean, use protection.

Oh there definitely is irritation and itching...sorry I forgot to mention that part. Also, one thing the doctor did mention was Herpes sores are usually painful, whereas mine are not, which is a good sign, although I suppose a different STD is possible. And thank you for keeping the fingers crossed for me!!
