Help! Whats going on?!
For the past 2 months ive been getting brown discharge. A LOT of it too. when i wipe the whole toilet paper is covered in it. I haven't got my period yet but ive had white discharge for about 2 years. Theres no red in the brown discharge and theres no red or blood when i go to the bathroom, so basically no period. What is this? Is it a sign im getting my period or is it my period but a really light flow? What do i do about it? Pads, tampons, panty liners? Please help! Thanks! -
Brown is old blood, not everything is pushed out during a period so it can come out on a later random date for no reason as a brown discharge. It also occurs before a period is due and in that case it is merely uterine lining being shed without the blood. Completely normal for it to happen to all women. There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy. -
I've had this exact thing happen to me a couple time and I will admit, it did freak me out a bit. But it went away eventually and I agree with the above responder, old blood coming out is a definite possibilty. If you're really concerned about this and would rather have a medical opinion... see your doctor.Comment

Hi there, i'm 16 and my periods usually last 3-5 days and i'm usually a week late. Last month I was heavy and lasted 3-5.
During this month, I lost my virginity and we used a condom. He filled it with water and it didn't have a hole in it so that was good. I've also had a common cold but it has been really bad as in a terrible cough and lots of mucus anyway.
I'm currently on for the 3rd day, I came on my period on time this month but it's VERY light and just brown. On Sunday (which was my exact due on date) I felt like I was properly on my period but since then it's very light, barely even filling a sanitary towel and it's brown. I'm hoping i'm not pregnant as the condom didn't split! I have read that the reason it may be light and brown is because I was heavy last month and it's old blood clearing away. However, I am still worried. Should I take a home pregnancy test or is this normal? Please help!Comment

If you're still worried, then I say yes. It will most likely come back negative, but it will at least give you peace of mind. Generic ones are a lot cheaper and work just as well. I say take one, and most come in a pack of 3 so if you ever feel the need to take on in the future you have them on hand. But like it said, it will most likely be negative, but it will at least help you to not worry once you really see the results with your own eyes.

I am really worried, I don't really know why because like I said on the Sunday I felt definitely on, but after Sunday there was barely anything and it was brown still. This is the first light period i've had but we used protection and it didn't split. Hmmmm, thank you i'll take one just in case! Hopefully it will be negative like you say xxxIf you're still worried, then I say yes. It will most likely come back negative, but it will at least give you peace of mind.
