Last week I went in for my annual gyno exam and while I was there I asked the doctor to do a yeast culture since I've been having some irritation down there. The pap results came back normal, which is good, but she just called to say that I tested positive for yeast, BV and micro-plasma (which I have never heard of). Since I have read that vaginal infections could be a first sign of HIV in women I am extremely concerned.

I had unprotected sex with an ex-boyfriend a little over 2 years ago and contracted genital herpes and later found out he was convicted of raping two women (one before we were together and one after). I am too scared to get tested for HIV.

Do you think this could in fact be a symptom? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

HIV is a pretty big jump and it takes several years for actual symptoms to pop up. I really would not be worried about that. Go back to the doctor and get the antibiotics for the infections you have now and to be on the safe side get an HIV test.

Just an update - I have completed the metrogel, 5 days of antibiotics and 2 diflucan pills and now if feels like I have a UTI with some itching and burning. Why wouldn't the diflucan work? Has anyone else experienced something like this?
