    2 Week Spotting?

    Hi,

I'm new here so please forgive me if something similar has been posted before.

As each day of my "period" passes, I'm growing more and more concerned For the past two, almost three weeks I've been spotting but its more the very dark almost brown discharge you would usually associate with the start of a period. I've had just a few instances (Less than the fingers on one hand) where the discharge is a brighter color which lead me to think that finally my period was kicking in, but the discharge would stop after a few hours and then would return to the dark brown color.

Any ideas what could be causing this "spotting" as I thought if it was "implantation Spotting" then the color of the discharge would be brighter, like the color of fresh blood.

Granted I've not taken a pregnancy test, but that's purely because I'm petrified and all previous tests have come back negative. I do want to go see my local doctor but I'm afraid that he's going to think I'm a bit of a hypocondriac.

    Please help.

    Thank you Ladies.

    Hello Claire,

Have you been taking any medicine or vitamins? Have you used birth control within last 6 months or so?

      Hello,

I have been using birth control in the past but after a reaction to the pill, my doctor suggested coming off it for a while and sticking to condoms until my system has completely purged itself. My periods have been regular even since coming off the pill almost 6 months ago.

When I went off the pill it was a nighmare for at least a year, our body was used to one thing and now it's trying to go back to being free of drugs.

Spotting can happen on the pill or off the pill, also stress can bring that on..

I doubt that there is anything to worry about, but as you do worry Go see your Doctor to confirm this.

Hi again, Claire: Knowing that information (thanks for revealing), I would not be too concerned. I think it truly is a matter of your body adjusting itself. Nothing to get worried about. But of course when in doubt, you can get it checked out with your doctor. I'm a hypochondriac myself, so I know what you mean. I have been getting better with it though.

Do you have PMS cramps or heavy bleeding during your cycles? If so, I can give some easy all natural tips that will help with that.

Hi! I am also spotting for more than two weeks now. I am not taking any birth control pills. However, I took an antibiotic for a throat infection that I got then on the last day of my medication, I started spotting. It is brown, with no foul odor. Is this also normal?
