    Please help.. Seriously confused

Hi! I am currently about a week late on my period.. I am not on the pill, I was previously but discontinued a while ago. I was going on a trip for work and decided to use the 1 refill of birth control I had left unused at my house (from way back when i was actively taking b.c) to prevent my period. I took that week, prevented my period and stopped taking the pills and got my period about 2 days after I returned home. Could this be why my period is late? Should I be concerned about pregnancy or other possibilities?

    Thanks so much...

As long as you have been protecting yourself using a non-hormonal method of birth control - like condoms - during any sexual encounters, you don't have to worry about pregnancy. You should absolutely NOT depend on the pills you're taking for conception prevention, since you're not taking them correctly for their intended purpose. I don't mean that in a rude way - you're entitled to take your pills for whatever reason you want! They are just not going to prevent a pregnancy the way you're taking them.

The way you're taking them is also going to get your body all kinds of confused. It will take it some time to get used to the new rhythm, since its old rhythm was interrupted. Don't take any more hormonal pills for a few months, until things even out.

I absolutely agree with you. I am not consistently taking them by any means, just that week. No more after that, not on any now. I was just concerned as to if this is why my period is late, or if I should be more concerned with other possibilities.
