Hi. I am a 53 yr old F whose last period began on 8/31 and was heavy, since the 5th I have daily brown and pink spotting with really unpleasant odor.
Background:
Have have cysts on my right ovary for over 16 years. last ones seen through sonograms (internal and external) were chocolate and the size of grapefruit. I also have had VERY heavy periods since the birth of my last child almost 16 yrs ago. I also suffer a dull painful ache in my tailbone and occasionally, I wake up with bad pains, like contractions and only thing that eases em is a bowel movement and time, sometimes even the bowel movement does not help. I also get them if I walk for very long. I do not know what triggers em. I do not have sex nor have I had sex since 2000 so I cant say it is a trigger but I do not if I have a dream orgasm, I get the contractions.
Had uterine biopsies in 07 and 08. After 08 one, my dr said it was out of her expertise and wanted to refer me to the local regional medical center but since I did not have insurance, they wold not accept the faxed in referral from dr and told me I had to walkin with drs documents and pay a 330 dollar deposit for office visit. That never happened cos I couldnt get the drs office to give me the documents to walk in and I didnt have 330 dollars. ( my then dr said she considered me perimenopausal since 2006, how long does the phase go on? I never liked my periods and really am ready for them to be done with)
I also gained 50 pounds in 3 years with no reason (eat health and low calorie)
I am concerned about this dang continual spotting, some say it is normal but it sure does not seem to be so. Not sure what to do.
