I'm so glad I found this forum. I have a dr's appt next week, but in the meantime I hope someone can give me some advice.

I have been married for 15 years, 36 years old. Just last month DH and had sex several times in one day. After that I felt really raw and sore at the outside of my vagina and the skin in my groin. I had a little bit of itching right at the opening of my vagina. Hope that makes sense. No weird discharge or odor. We took a little break from sex and I was feeling better. Got my period now a few days later we had sex this morning. Again with the irritation and soreness. I checked myself out in a mirror and the skin in my groin area is broken and red. I applied some A&D ointment. I have no idea what's going on. Is it an infection, irriation? I do know it's painful and annoying.

I also want to add that I have tiny cuts in the perineum area.

Hi! What you have sounds a lot like what happened to me a little back; I had a long sex session and it ended up being quite painfull, i felt dry and sore down there, and as you say i too had "I felt really raw and sore at the outside of my vagina" and "I had a little bit of itching right at the opening of my vagina" plus i even had light bleeding!
I believe its irritation, specially if you have no weird discharges. Take another break from sex, and also use water-based luricants, that will help.
If you have little cuts tho they could get infected in the long term so i'd say you could go to your doc so you get that checked out; you might get prescribed a mosturiser or something like that

Hi, thanks for responding. The irritation is still there, but it's getting much better. I've been using Eucerin on the skin area down there. I guess it's helping. We had sex this morning and there was a little stinging and some itching afterwards, but now it's feeling better. I actually have my annual tomorrow, so I'm going to ask my doctor. It's so weird. This has never happened to me before. I'm 36, so I don't know if it's age related or what. How long did it take for the irritation to completely go away? I'm currently on CD 7 and it started around this time last cycle.
