    No period, negative test results

So I'm going on over 2 months without getting my period. My last period ended October 28th so needless to say, it's due.

    A little history:
I started taking birth control pills in January of 2009. That pill I stopped taking October of 2010 and started a lower dosage pill. That pill ended up causing some major dizzy spells with me so I switched yet again and that pill did the same thing so I stopped taking them in October of 2011 and I haven't been on anything since.

After stopping my pills I went 3 months with no period and then it started to regulate again. Now I work retail and with this past Christmas season I was dealing with some major stress. So needless to say from October til probably next week I'll be dealing with some major issues in terms of being stressed. I have also come to realize that because of my stress level I have been unable to loose a single pound of weight regardless of what I do which I'm sure many people have dealt with before.

Anyway my question here is, what is wrong with my period? I'm breaking out on my face like I usually do, I have no want or desire to have sex or even masturbate. I have days where I don't want to be touched by anyone, including my fiance. It's been this way for months and I don't know what to do. I don't know if stress is the problem or what it is. Could stress lead to missed periods? Of course it's been kind of nice not having to deal with it but I'm still kind of anxiously waiting for it to pop up. Like I said, i've taken pregnancy tests just to be safe and they've all come back negative so that isn't a concern and like I said, i've had no desire for sex so we've barely done it at all. Any ideas?

I would have to say thats its due to the amount of stress youve had. That can be a huge factor in your period since it does function on hormones.

Yea I was kind of guessing it was due to that. Lots of stress, crappy job, etc you know. Hoping things finally subside now that the holidays are over but we'll see.

My guess is it's a bc issue. Typically the reason stress causes period issues is because stress causes delayed or missed ovulation. If your ovulation is late, your period will be late. If you miss ovulation, you will not have a period. However, if you're on BC, you're not ovulating at all so that isn't a factor in causing a missed period.

The lack of libido, irregular periods sounds like a hormonal bc issue to me.

I just reread your post and believe I misunderstood. So you are currently OFF bc? If that is the case, then indeed, extra stress could cause a delayed or skipped ovulation and period.

Have you been checked for PCOS?

I just went through something similar, in the fact that I went without a cycle for 3 months. Could have sworn I was pregnant, but got negatives on a regular basis. I would agree with all the above. Stress, among many other things definitely interferes with you hormonal balance/ovulation/libido, etc. Totally throws everything out of whack. Birth control doesn't have the possibility of interfering with this now because you have been off of it for so long. Stress is the main factor here. If you are positive that you aren't pregnant, finding some way to get rid of some of your stress is the answer. Google stress relieving techniques and study how it affect everything. Your diet, what you eat, your daily routine, when you wake up, etc. All of these things can either balance or throw off your hormones. There's so many different things that it ties to. Just do some research, and get rid of the stress. Good luck. If all else fails, talk to a doctor.

Yes I am currently off Birth Control. I took my very last pill last October (October 2011) so I have not been on anything since then (Thank god).

Anyway, here is what my typical day looks like. On days I work I usuall go in around 8:30-9:30 AM so I am up in between 6-6:30M. I get up and shower first thing and then get something o eat which usually consists of cereal and ten later on some yogurt or toast but most of the time it’s yogurt. I do my makeup and all that fun stuff and make lunch and all that. I also ALWAYS carry a big bottle of water to work.

Days I’m off well, I go to bed a little bit later the night before and usually wake up between 9-10AM and then my routine is pretty much the same as well. I’m always tired on my days off even after getting more sleep than I would on the days I work. I work in retail, Walmart to be exact. Lately we’ve been dealing with shift cuts leaving less people there to help us which causes pressure on myself and my coworkers.

As my original post stated I haven’t had my period since October 28th which was the end of that period. Really haven’t changed much in terms of everything besides the stress at work. I’m planning on hopefully purchasing a gym membership and I’m going to try and focus better on what I eat as well or at least more so on portion control. My fiancé keeps telling me to pick up test after test when I know they’re just going to be negative because like I said, we’ve hardly done anything. I’ve also been having some depression issues lately as well probably due to the lack of calling in my life right now and me being stuck in a dead end job. Soo yea, I’m still going without a period obviously and it’s closing in on month 3 real quick. I would go to my doctor but it's highly unlikely they could find anything anyway since the office I go to is just horrible but that's beside the point right now.

Well after almost 3 months my period has decided to grace me with it's presence. Of course it has come back with a vengeance. No cramping thankfully but it's really heavy with clots and everything which is pretty normal for me. Hope it chills out again soon
