I'm 24 and haven't seen a gyno since I was 15! I have never even had a pap smear! I know this isn't good but I don't have insurance. I have never had a doctor "down there" until last October in the er when I had a serious yeast infection. I don't know what to do and need advice. I'm trying to concieve now and have pcos but need help. Suggestions?

It's going to be hard to conceive without a Gyno's help they can give you a pill called clomid to help to get pregnant but you need some sort of insurance

          Rib,

How long have you been TTC? Have you been taking any form of hormonal BC? If so, how long have you been off the pill?

Having PCOS can make it more difficult for some people to procreate, but that doesn't mean that you won't be able to without medication. If you have regular cycles and ovulate monthly, there is no reason why you would need treatment to conceive. Most doctors won't consider medication to boost fertility until after you have been TTC for at least a year. If you have been on hormonal BC, it may take up to a year for your body and hormones to level off.

You may want to consider insurance before conception. You already know that having a baby is expensive, but if there are complications, medical expenses could be overwhelming.

Try to relax and have fun with your journey to conception. When couples are actively trying, and it doesn't happen, it's easy to get depressed or find the act of having sex as a chore. Good luck and have fun exploring.
