I recently had my period for six weeks. I'm still not 100% sure why it got so bad and crazy, I really think there were multiple factors. Mine started out fairly light as well, and suddenly turned into the heaviest period of my life (which says a lot because I have extremely heavy periods). I would suggest that you continue to try to get an appointment with a doctor. If they are reluctant to let you in for an appointment, make sure they are aware that it is not just a routine check up or anything. My doctor had me switch to a different birth control. If you aren't currently on birth control, it is possible that your doctor will put you on birth control simply to regulate your cycle. But you definitely want to get checked out because there are many possibilities as to what could be causing your problem.Comment

im 21 years old now and i had surgery in january of this year because mine was non stop for 4 months. went to all kinds of doctors obgyns and they kept telling me nothing was wrong. well they did a d&c hysteroscopy to get me to stop. now that its started again its been non stop for a month. went to and obgyn yesterday and they told me my hormones were imbalanced. they also told me that if i hadnt started it was due to hormonal imbalance.Comment
