terrible itching down there. Please guide.

Hello All. Im an Indian, a bit overweight, feeling itchy in the fold of the skin between my inner thigh and vagina. ONLY ON THE LEFT SIDE. The vaginal lip and the skin in the fold is super itchy. The skin is probably oozing some transparent liquid, because i can feel that side of my panty completely wet. Its not blood. and if I itch, the skin cracks and blood oozes out. the skin is either extremely dry...so dry that it cracks and falls off like dandruff or moist and oozing. Please help. any home remedies? The right side is absolutely fine....only the left side is causing the itch.

You should try to put an ointment on it (like the ones used for diaper rash A&D Ointment or Desitin) and then maybe some baby or talc powder. It sounds to me like maybe you have chaffing on that side or as the weather gets warmer and you perspire that could cause a heat rash. The ointment will give you some relief from the itching and protect it from getting worse and the talc powder will absorb any extra moisture from perspiring. If the problem persists or gets worse definitely go see your doctor and have it checked out.

In such a dark moist environment, infection is easy to establish. One thing I've learned with my vag area is, don't go trying to doctor it up with all sorts of stuff because you don't know when you have a bacterial infection (which antibiotic would help), or a yeast or fungal infection (which antibiotic would make worse). Many women don't realize that they can have an external yeast infection. Focus for a few days on wearing very breathable underwear, nothing tight or restrictive, and keeping the area dry and clean. As JadedQueen said, use powder, something unscented. Do not rub the area. Do not put anything else on it. If in a couple days you do not see healing, visit your doctor.
