Please somebody help me :( please please

Hi, I am 16 years old and sexually active. When me and my boyfriend have sex, a strange occurrence has happened twice now. My clit or vaginal area will get very big and red. Almost like its swollen. Also I've been having a very thick vaginal discharge with a smelly oder. I also get my period in the beginning of the month. Sometimes it burns when I pee or I have a really bloated feeling almost like I still need to go to the bathroom after I just did. Please help

You really need to go in and see a doctor/Gynecologist as soon as possible. Could be a yeast infection/vaginal thrush particularly when you mention the thick discharge and smelly odor. I know you may be embarrassed but doctors are used to seeing these type of things and just want to help you get better. They will help you really diagnose what is going on with your body. As much as any of us here would like to help you, it really is a guessing game as to what you may be going on with your body and would be irresponsible to help you diagnose yourself. Take care ok and get in and see that doctor!

      Hi Mia,

      Welcome to WH.

jslater is correct, we aren't Doctors so we can only guide you to what is best for you.

But, if it is thrush, which so many girls get even those that are not engaging in sexual activity, it doesn't go away on its own and it transfers itself back and forth from sexual intercourse. It is not an STD rather a bacterial problem that either of you could have had but for sure are passing it back and forth to each other. For instance, we need to breathe there, so cotton is good but if we wear nylon we can't breathe and thrush can be caused. Google Thrush..

So don't feel embarrassed over this it is soooo common, I think we have all had it along the way in life and more than once.

What I can suggest (for now) is natural yoghurt. It helps immensely combat the bacteria but you should still see a Doctor or even go to a Chemist, and discuss it with someone there, there is cream and there is a once of tablet you can take and make sure you mention you are sexually active because "he" too has to have the cream treatment.

Also - ask them about vinegar and salt in warm water and what portion you could use in the event it doesn't straight away clear up with what they provide. Vinegar stops the itching and salt heals.

Best wishes and let us know how you go.
