Menstrual cycle & Birth control question - 2nd opinion

    Hi everyone,

I did some digging and tried to find a post with someone similar to mine but figured I would ask anyways.

Anyways, I started oral birth control in September, continuous, so I never have a period. Starting in early-mid December I got some odd light pink/brown spotting which I assumed was break through bleeding from the birth control. It stopped after about 3-4 days. But in the last 2 weeks it has come back. I had dark brown discharge for about 4 days, it stopped for a few days, and now I have had cramps for 3 days and extremely light discharge that is light brown/light pink in color. I will be honest and say that in the time I have been on the oral birth control there are times I forgot to take it, or took it late, which I think most women do. My boyfriend and I have never used back up birth control and are sexually active a 3-4x per week.

I have also been extremely tired the last few months, more emotional than usual, and in the last month my boobs have grown from a small C to a full D. They have been extremely sore, sensitive, and heavy the last 3 days as well. Just BC symptoms?

I called and spoke with the nurse at my gynecologist's office a few days ago and she said that its just old blood from being on the pill. I did not tell her however about any missed pills, or late pills, etc.

Anyways, second opinions? Is it still just old blood? Should I be concerned?

    Thanks!

I would take a pregnancy test to rule that out. I tried to "skip a period" once by continuously taking birth control and it messed up my cycle. I still had light bleeding randomly. It may be from missing some pills and it's old blood making its way out of your body. That's usually what brown blood means - old blood.

That's kind of what I figured, with the blood being brown. I've been thinking of doing a pregnancy test just in case, though I expect it to be negative. I am just paranoid and worried there was something horribly wrong.
