Hi there,
I noticed little tiny white hard pin like spots in and around my anus. I also have very very very itchy skin around and on my vagina. I have raised bumps on the lips and small blisters on the inside of my vagina. I was convinced I had herpes and went to see a doctor who wasn't sure but said it MIGHT be herpes and I was subscribed VALACICLOVIR which is used to treat herpes.
However when I read up on the symptoms of herpes I don't have any pus or scalling blisters so now I am thinking I have genetial warts. I really need to know as the doctor was useless and it's a while before I can get to another doctor as I am doing a lot of travelling at the minute.

I unfortunately did have unprotected sex so I am worried it's an STI.
Can somebody please help me. Thank you.

You could have a combination of the two. Usually what we see re: herpes in the pictures on the web or in medical text book, happen to be the more extreme pictures. Herpes can present itself as one blister, or a cluster of small blisters, so small that you may not have noticed them. They don't necessarily have to be pus filled, but would have amounts of fluid in them containing the active virus. Scratching them can spread the blisters. The small hard lumps could be genital warts. If your doctor is uncertain, ask for tests to confirm or rule out either of them. Until you find out, I'd abstain from sex.

First of all Mary, I can not believe your doctor did not do a STD test that's the first thing he should have done duh. If you go on Web M.D and explain your symptoms they can get you steer in the right direction for you. My self I am thinking general warts. because with herpes you would have sores around the mouth and lips maybe around the labia's lips and so on. But you need to get your self to another doctor and kick this other one to the curb. But for your safety in the near future Mary, if you don't know this guy have him wear a condom it's not worth that few minutes of pleasure of bare-backing when you could be leading down a really bad road here. I know condoms suck but it's better then what could happen. This is a small wake up call for you on really knowing who you are having sex with. I really hope this helps you Mary, good luck.
