    Skin between vagina and anus?

I have this floppy skin between my anus and where my labia ends and I have no idea what it is. I had originally thought it was part of my labia, but it isn't connected to it, just really close to it.
I had also thought it might be hemmorrhoids, but after looking at it it doesn't appear to be skin from inside my anus, it is just near it.
It doesn't cause me problems or discomfort, doesn't hurt or anything, it is just as far as I know it isn't normal and it worries me?
If it means anything, I have had it years. It doesn't get bigger or smaller or go away.
    What might it be?

It could be just the outer skin that was formed by a hemorrhoid that has resolved itself. A hemorrhoid is usually a dilated vein or out pouching of a muscle, it could be caused by a blood clot that then absorbed internally. If you are truly concerned about this, you should see your doctor. Sometimes these loose pieces of skin can be a hygiene factor in as much as you aren't able to cleanse yourself properly. It could be caused by a prolapse of the pelvic floor. This can be fixed and they can remove these loose pieces of skin.
That which we forget may as well never really happened.

I think it's your perineal raphe. Wikipedia has a decent picture of what I imagine you describing.

I learned something new. Thanks, Stillness.

From the Wikipedia page Stillness talked about, sometimes the raphe is fairly prominent.

But this is usually prominent on males not females, and it is not described as loose and floppy and near the labia.

I don't have symptoms of pelvic floor prolapse, so I am assuming it isn't that. I don't have problems washing myself, it just worries me because it isn't normal.

I looked at the wiki picture for perineal raphe, and that looks similar to what I have, except for I don't have the little line/trail of skin, I just have the little piece of skin near the anus and that what I have isn't skin colored, it is pink.

The developmental pictures in the Wikipedia article on perineal raphe seems to show the perineal raphe as an extension of the the labia in the direction of the anus. In the male, the edges (what are labia in female development) close to become the scrotum and thus the perineal raphe can extend all of the way up to the penis in some cases.

Pink would be like an external hemorrhoid. Is it possibly a skin tag?

There is a great deal of variety in the range of "normal." It's like faces or fingerprints. Each person's genitals will have a unique combination of shape, size, and color patterns. The picture is just an example.

I don't think anything is wrong with you. But you could always check with your doctor to be safe.

It doesn't look like a skin tag, but I guess it is possible.

I will definitely ask the doctor next time I go, thanks.
