    Embarrassing tampon question/story

I'm on vacation with my friend and my periods early so I ask her for something to tide me over until I can get to a pharmacist. She gives me these really small tampons, they don't even have an applicator. I was too embarrassed to tell her I've never used a tampon cuz everytime I try it hurts too much. So I go to the bathroom and try again and of course, still uncomfortable. But I didn't want to tell her so I wrapped toilet paper around my underwear and put the tampon kinda resting on top just until I could throw it away (embarrassing right, I dunno what I was thinking).

Anyway I finally get to the pharmacy, go to a restaurant bathroom to put on a pad and the tampon is just gone! I was wearing quite tight yoga pants so I don't think it fell out, it was dark in the bathroom so Im not 100% sure it didn't fall into the toilet or something. But now I'm afraid it somehow lodged itself inside me. I tried as much as I could with my index finger to feel around before I had to stop because it hurt.

Is there any way it could have ACTUALLY gone up inside me just from walking around and sitting or does it need a lot of force?

I highly doubt it's gone up into you on its own. Have you tried feeling for it yourself? If you're really worried or just want peace of mind perhaps go and see a doctor.

Very unlikely. Things don't just fall in there. If you can't get it in the first place I don't see how you wouldn't feel it. I hate those little OB no applicator tampons. It's all my mom and sister use so when I had to borrow tampons it sucked. There are compact brands that will fit in your pocket and have an applicator so there is less friction putting it in. My periods were random so I often carried one and a thin pad around all the time and traded it out as the wrapper wore off. Not that it did a whole lot of good cause when my period hit a tampon would only last about 30-60 mins while sitting still. I did that wrap toilet paper many times.

Yea I tried myself, maybe got a little more than halfway up my index finger before I stopped. I would go to a doctor but its difficult since I won't be home for another three weeks. Your comment has made me feel better tho, I'm just very paranoid. Thank you
