    EXTREME pain after sex

I think you should go see ur quack... my friend get's this, it's call Endometriosis...

Hope you get better soon! x

Endometriosis is a fairly common condition in which cells that usually line the womb are found elsewhere in the body. It affects approximately 2 million women in the UK, most of which are diagnosed between the ages of 25 and 40. Endometriosis can occur in several places in the body, most commonly including the fallopian tubes, the ovaries, the bladder, the bowel, the intestines, the vagina, and the rectum.
The endometriosis cells behave in the same way as those that line the womb, so every month they grow during the menstrual cycle and then shed blood. Normally before a period, the lining of the womb (the endometrium) thickens in order to receive a fertilised egg. When pregnancy does not happen, this lining breaks down and bleeds, leaving the body as menstrual blood. Endometrial tissue anywhere in the body will go through the same process of thickening and bleeding, but it has no way of leaving the body. The endometrial tissue is 'trapped' which leads to pain, swelling and bleeding wherever the tissue is.
The most common symptom of endometriosis is pain or discomfort in the area where it thickens and bleeds, although some women have few or no symptoms at all.

It does sound like endo. I've had it for years. Plz see what your gyno says. Good luck! Take care.

It sounds like I am going through the same thing. In the past couple years I have very occasinally had sharp knife like pains in my vagina while having sex, when he hits that certain spot. In the past I thought it was just a sensitive spot and have noticed it seems to happen before my period. Before today the pain never seemed to stay after sex and was nothing just changing positions wouldn't cure. Today however while my boyfriend and I were having intercourse the pain came again and was really really bad, it hurt for him even to be in me just a little bit. We of course stopped right away but the pain lasted for a few hours afterwards. Even now, about 10 hours later, I am still experiencing some minor pain. I was going to go to emerg but the pain began to diminish and I had to go to work. I did call telehealth (an Ontario govn't health 1-800 service) they didn't really know what could be going on and the lady just suggested I see my doctor when I can.
I have had no bleeding or abnormal discharge. It sounds quite possible that the condition spoke of in the other postings before mine (endo something or other) could be what is wrong with me but does anyone know of any other problems that could match my sypmtoms? I will definatley see a doctor asap but I am getting worried and was looking for any other info before I can get to a doc.

      cheers
