Abnormal Vaginal discharge
Okay, let me just start off by saying I have always had a discharge that I have thought to be more than normal amount. I have talked to several different doctors through out my life that have all thought to be non concerning. I have always been a very shy person especially when it comes to doctors and may not have put forth all the information that was needed to determine the cause. Usually it just randomly happens through out the day so much that I have to change pads several times. I am on birth control and have been for a few years but have always had this problem. I've talked to my gynecologist who wants to wait till my next annual visit to help determine what to do. I've called her several times through out the year trying to explain to her that I just didn't think it was normal to have this much discharge through out the day asking if there was something I could do. She has changed my birth control probably 5 times and now I've started breaking out really bad with acne. I've been tested for a bacterial infection and yeast infection hoping that would help but with no luck. Usually my first week when starting the pills I just have a clear mucus looking discharge, then after the second week it starts turning brown and a few days later it will be very dark brown and sometimes black. I am unusually very tired through out the day having to drink several cups of coffee to stay awake at work. I get at 8 hours of sleep at night and my activities aren't very strenuous. I have been really stressed out the last few months dealing with this and feel like nothing has been done. This week I talked to my doctors office and told them I wasn't experiencing any bleeding and that hopefully it was working then a day later it started again. This time I had a little bit of brown discharge but then tonight it turned into bright red spots. I do have sex regularly and also can be very painful sometimes. I went to my doctor last month for a visit and she said everything felt normal but she didn't want to do a physical and pap until my annual. I just want someones opinion because I'm so tired of dealing with this. I have literally had a wet spot on my pants from discharging so much. Please help me! -
I haven't experienced this but I would highly consider trying a different gyn/ob just for a second opinion. Your body and your intuition are telling you something is not right and I strongly believe in listening to those things. The discharge itself may be no big cause for concern, but I think the colored discharge is a different story. Are you having a period? Is it possible the brown/black discharge is your period? I sometimes have a little brown discharge before a period. -
You're dealing with persistent excessive vaginal discharge, changes in menstrual bleeding, acne, fatigue, and painful intercourse. Despite multiple birth control changes and tests for infections, the issue remains unresolved. It's crucial to seek a second opinion from a gynecologist or endocrinologist. These symptoms could relate to hormonal imbalances or other underlying issues that need proper evaluation and management. Open communication with a healthcare professional is essential for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.Comment
