Vaginal Pain
My vagina seems to be very sensitive. It hurts almost constantly for one reason or another. It usually feels very dry and itchy no matter what I do: wear different underwear, try not to itch, try sensitive skin soap, etc. Also, it has always hurt to have sex and I get no pleasure out of it. It rubs a lot and is sometimes extremely painful or uncomfortable. I went through a phase when it didnt hurt nearly as much and felt like the penis was sliding slightly more easily. however i still didnt really like sex and got no pleasure. then we stopped having sex as much and it's now more painful than ever. Does anyone have any advice to stop the irritation and pain, and to get pleasure from sex? thanks. -

I understand
You just describe me. I wishI had a answer for you. I have very sensitive skin and it seems everything effects my vagina. It is also painful for me to have sex and sometimes afterwards I swell up some and I am sore for a few days and it is also more painful for me the longer we go without having sex. We use K Y because I am so dry. I've been to the doctor and he says everything is ok. I know this is not normal. I hope someone will read our posts and please give us some advice on how to handle this. -

Hope this helps
Hello again
I been doing some research on this and this is what I found.
Vulvar Vestibulitis Syndrome - Inflammation around the "vestibule," or opening to the vagina. This condition may occur alone or in combination with other types of vulvar pain. Symptoms of vulvar vestibulitis include sensations of burning, dry, raw, or tight skin, and may range from mild to severe. Pain is usually caused by external touch, or by pressure caused by intercourse, tampon insertion, tight pants, bicycling or horseback riding. A minority of patients, however, may have symptoms without touching or pressure. Some patients with vulvar vestibulitis only have discomfort with intercourse. Others are uncomfortable on a daily basis and find it difficult to sit or walk. Some women cannot tolerate intercourse, while others can, although there is usually some degree of discomfort. Women with severe, enduring pain may develop vaginismus, which is a spasm of the pelvic floor muscles that makes intercourse or tampon insertion difficult or impossible.Comment

It is also possible that you need more lubrication. For some of you, you may also be allergic to condoms if you are using them. I noticed you mentioned that you were itchy. That can some times be an indication of a yeast infection too. Also, birth control has been known to cause all of these problems minus the itching.Comment

I was just diagnosed with VVS. The doctor advised me its because of being on the pill for a long time (10 years). However, I can't be off of the pill because I have cysts rupturing. For me the burning/pain got worse over the years and now I can't have sex at all. Which is very flustrating for me. My husband is very understanding but I'm still depressed about the whole thing. I have tried all types lubrications and still the vagina will burn like heck. Even when we do a little foreplay the burning will start. So I can totally understand your flustration.
The doctor has put me on a steriod cream Clobetasol Propionate USP .05%Comment
