Peeing in a cup for the Gynecologist?

Okay, so I went into the Gynecologist awhile back-- I was getting some UTIs. So they ask me to pee in a cup, and never heard back from them.
They said that they were going to check for bacterial infections. If they testes for bacterial infections what does that mean? What do they test for?

Most UTI's are caused by bacteria, so I'm assuming that's what they were checking for.

Are you still having the problem? If so, I'd call. If not, I'd assume the tests were negative and that everything is fine.

Do they test for the bacterial stds, like trich? I'm not really having that problem, knock on wood, but I've never got tested for it. Got tested for everything else and neg, but I can't seem to find a place that can test for trich. I'm hoping that is not what was causing the issue. :/

I think trich can be tested for it urine, or vaginal or urethral discharge.

Do you have the symptoms of trich? If you're not having large amounts of oddly colored discharge, fishy/foul odor, and abnormal itching and irritation then you probably don't have trich.
