  • Bleeding for 28 days and still counting

My period started 28 days ago, and is still going. Everytime I think it is going to end, I start cramping again, and the bleeding gets heavier. My husband and I lost our baby at 21 weeks last November, so I'm sure that the bleeding should have subsided by now. Every month since we lost her, my period last for at least three weeks. This month is totally non stop, and the cramping is getting to be very uncomfortable. I don't understand why it won't stop. Last night, I really thought my period was over, until I woke up this morning to very dark fresh red blood. My doctor says this is normal after miscarrying. Any ideas? I really don't think it should last this long. Has anyone else gone through something like this? Any ideas/suggestions are welcomed.

    Thanks!

  • I have a doctor appointment in a couple of weeks, that was the only time they had to squeeze me in. I started spotting 28 July and still seeing blood. It is now 26 of July. When I started, I was thinking, well good my period is on, it'll go off by the end of the week, but it hasn't. It's still on. When I started spotting the color was dark brown, or darkish red color, and I would only see it if I wiped. Now, I have to wear a pad. It's starting to get slightly heavy, but not too much. I'm starting to see blood clots now.
I haven't had any crampings, that's weird because through out the years I always had cramping when my period came on. The only thing that really bothers me is that my breasts are getting sore. Sometimes I don't even want my bra on or a tight shirt, because it hurts my breasts.

I don't know what's going on with me, I'll be glade when I can get in to see the doctor. If it gets too bad I'll go to the hospital, but it hasn't so thank God!

I hope you can get some answers with your problem, I've been searching the web for some kind of answers and haven't found anything. I don't know, maybe it's just stress. I never bleed this long before.

    • The same thing happened to my wife several years ago. They ended up putting her on birth control for a month just to get it to quit. We were trying to get her pregnant at the time, so I thought it was to put her on birth control (even if for a month), but it did fix the problem. I hope you ladies have as simple a fix as that.
      Cheers.

I began my period on June 18 and went through July 18. I thought everything was over then on Friday, Aug 1 I started again and am still going. It has been heavey and dark and I have several blood clots. We are trying to get pregnant....but how can I if all I do is bleed. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks and have a great day all.

I'm having this EXACT same problem!! I have no idea whats goin on! i had a period on november 6th that lasted about 5 days. Then exactly a week later I had brownish spotting for two days. Then i didnt have another period til December 21st. and it lasted 5 or 6 days. Then I didnt have a period at all in january. Then on Feburary 5th while at the casino I began to have very LIGHT spotting that would spot barely enough to see when i wiped and it only lasted a few hours then went away for the day. and Then it did it again the next day. Well now, I'm 28 days in and I'm on it big time. Very thick and clotty. and no cramps what so ever. my friend thought I was pregnant but we took a test and I'm not. My boobs are very sore too. I cant stand having a bra on at home. I just take it off as soon as I can. The spotting has turned into a period almost. But it just wont stop. It goes back and forth from light pink, brown, and red. and sometime clear. i was worried sick. I still am. i'm gonna go see an OBGYN but I've never seen one before since i'm only 18 and I just dont wanna with this spotting/period. Its just awkward. I'm also kinda sore down there too. Idk if thats cuz i've been bleeding for so long or what. But this is worrysome and I'd like to know what you find/found out!

          • I am in the same boat. I had a D&C done on January 10th. Had a normal period about 4 weeks after that. Than my second period came (on time) and it has been 29 days and I am still bleeding. What was weird is that I went to my OB/GYN 2 weeks ago because I just could not believe that I had been bleeding for 3 weeks. She did an ultrasound and said that everything looked great and that I was actually getting ready to ovulate. I could see the egg in my overy. She said she was not concerned about the bleeding (it was very light but still ongoing daily) and that it was normal. She said to go ahead and try to conceive. My husband and I tried for a few days hoping and praying. I never stopped bleeding and than I ended up having a really heavy, chucky and yucky 2 days of bleeding. I am still bleeding, I am bloated and breaking out (again). I am so sick of this. It's like I am getting ready to ovulate again. Ugh. I am going back to see my doctor in 2 weeks. Gosh I wish I would stop this bleeding so that I can get back on track and start trying to conceive again. This completely sucks. Anyone else have this issue?

I hope you ladies are taking a good supplement, that much bleeding must be very depleting.
