    Girlfriend missed period

Hi I'm hoping to find a answer here.

I know this is a womans forum but please I need advice

My girlfriend has been on the pill for the last 6 months and is still currently on, she went on a new pill 2 months ago as she suffers terrible pain and bleeding when she is on (she has suffered for may years and the gynaecologist said that maybe the new pill would help).

We had unprotected sex 2 weeks ago and she called me yesterday saying that she has not had her priod yet, which should of been yesterday 28/04/2008, still nothing today.

She is always stressed but has had a great deal of stress for the last 4 weeks and I have read that the pill can also cause missed periods.

I dont know what to do as she does not want to go to the doctor as she has a fear of them. She also said that she cant take a home pregnancy test as it will come out positive due to the pill as it makes the body believe its pregnant.

Does anybody have advice or an answer

You can still take a home pregnancy test, the pill tricks the body into thinking that it's pregnant but it won't make a pregnancy test come out positive everytime. The tests detect a certain hormone that the body only produces if it's actually pregnant.

Stress can also cause your periods to be late or not come at all. It's amazing what stress can do to your body.

Yes I never knew stress could cause such problems.

I forgot to mention that I did not ejaculate in her. I'll buy a home pregnancy test today.

      Thanks

Dont be offended but i think your girlfriend is suffering from a mental disorder eg: severe anxiety ...which she does really need a dr for .

You said she dosent want to go to the dr as she has a fear of them, your girlfriend is in no fit state to have a baby, unless she wants to give birth alone with NOBODY attending the birth. Im wondering, who did she visit to obtain her birth control pills?. she must of had to visit a dr ect.

If she dosent want to do a test PLUS dosent want to see a dr it really sounds like she is seeking attention by calling you (she wont tell you one way or another if she is or not) she may be wanting you to worry ?.

I would advise your girlfriend , do a test and call me back ? or take her to a dr and go in with her so HE can do the test.

The main thing is ONE day late for a period is nothing! i think its all just due to stress . Perhaps just the best thing to advise her is have some stress councelling. ...and dont have sex WITHOUT a condom for added protection if you do not wish to become a dad just yet . A condom and the pill will prevent a repeat situation . Good luck

Regardless of her continual stress in life, including this particular situation, look what she is putting you through? You are writing here to get advice as you don't know what to do to help her.

I agree with the above, as you don't need the stress on top of her stress, you need answers as well.
