Hi, I'm asking this as a male and it's probably the opposite of the regular odor question. In my teen years if i dated it seemed the vagina had a 'fishy' smell which was hard to wash off your hands. I guess this became an anchor sense for me and I liked it.
Nowadays dating 30 yr old + woman I find this extremely rare. Is there any explanation for this or is it an age thing? I would like my girlfriend to smell more. She has tried showering instead of bathing etc but nothing works. Is there a way to create this odor?
I have searched for answers and some say this is caused by infection or bad hygiene but the girls I dated back in my teen days where definitely quite innocent and clean.
Any input would be much appreciated!

Hello there. Just wanted to share my insight, not sure if it's right or not. but anyway, thanks a lot for being one of the rare souls to appreciate our smell from the way you describe that smell, it sure doesn't sound like yeast or an infection. It sounds like a healthy vagina. Everyone has to bear in mind that every vagina, clean or not, HAS A SMELL. That's just how the body, the vagina is made. There is a smell to it, to make it a vagina (lol). "Fishy" as how it's been described by you, by the world, is the classic default healthy vagina scent. But like you say, it's rare in 30+ year olds. I'm not sure myself if age has got to do with it but I'm 30+ and i sure still have the smell, and I take care of my hygiene haha. But one thing is, every woman's body and vagina are very different, some produce more smell, some just don't. And that's just how it biologically is. I've never come across or learned about how to increase the smell. But yes, if we have an infection or so, it's not the nice "fishy" smell anymore. It's bad, I don't know how to describe it. Perhaps getting aroused would help to increase the lubricant in the vagina hence increasing the smell?

Welcome to WH Interactive Forums. I tend to call it a woman's scent because the word odor sometimes has negative connotations. I've only noticed a fishy scent when there has been an infection or growth, usually a minor one. I think as women grow older and understand more about their bodies, they become more sensitive to scents and try to reduce or eliminate them, though that is not all women. That being said, I can understand why you are hooked on a particular scent. Your brain in your younger years tied together that scent and sex. I myself like a certain faint musky scent. Does your lady completely shave her lady parts? I ask because hair can not only trap some of the scent, but it also seems to regenerate more scent. This is part of why I am a fan of at least some pubic hair.

Thanks for the insights. She did try growing pubic hair to a proper bush and I did notice a difference but it was slight. So agreed it probably varies from person to person but was definitely more prevalent in my teen years. The only other general explanation I can think of is age. Perhaps younger woman weren't as experienced and didn't flow as much natural lubricant as older woman so it would stagnate more?
It's a total mystery but I sure do miss that scent!
