    Weird discharge help!

Two days ago I started getting dark brown, almost black, stringy, dry and very thick discharge, which had an odour, with an occasional tiny blood spot, along with bad cramps. it stopped for the most part yesterday, and today I’ve been getting pink/brown tinted clear slimy/thick discharge, with an occasional string or bit of the brown discharge.

I’ve been getting my period for seven years and this has never happened before? My last period ended two weeks before this started, it was abnormally short for me personally, only two-three days if that of occasional spotting and maybe one or two tampons of blood?

    I’m very confused

I used to have episodes similar to this. Seems like this was around the time of ovulation, which was also when I typically had some odd bleeding times.

Are you sexually active? Are you under a lot of stress?
My periods always went back to their irregular selves after this, and I never had a problem. If it continues to happen, or anything else is going on, talk to your doctor about it.

not currently sexually active, was around a month ago but pregnancy tests have come back negative, so it can’t be that.

yes to bring under a lot of stress, however, I haven’t experienced this from stress in the past, I guess every experience is different maybe.

thanks for the advise, I’ll see how it goes and maybe see my doctor if it continues!

A weird discharge could have various causes, including infections, hormonal changes, or other underlying conditions. Here are a few possibilities:
        1. Vaginal Discharge: If you're experiencing unusual vaginal discharge, it could be due to an infection such as bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, or a sexually transmitted infection (STI) like trichomoniasis. These infections might be accompanied by symptoms like itching, burning, or an unusual odor.
        2. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI): UTIs can cause changes in urinary discharge, such as cloudy or foul-smelling urine. UTIs often lead to other symptoms like frequent urination, burning sensation during urination, or lower abdominal pain.
        3. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): Certain STIs like gonorrhea or chlamydia may cause unusual discharge from the penis or vagina. Other symptoms might include pain during urination, genital itching or irritation, or genital sores.
        4. Hormonal Changes: Hormonal imbalances can also affect vaginal discharge. For example, changes in estrogen levels can lead to variations in consistency, color, or amount of discharge.

It's essential to seek medical advice for a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Remember to consult a healthcare professional who can evaluate your specific situation and provide personalized guidance based on your symptoms and medical history.

It is understandable to feel confused and concerned about the changes you're experiencing in your discharge and menstrual patterns. The dark brown, almost black, stringy, and thick discharge with an odor, accompanied by occasional tiny blood spots and bad cramps, may be indicative of various factors, such as hormonal fluctuations, infections, or gynecological issues. The subsequent pink/brown tinted clear slimy/thick discharge with bits of brown might be related to the end or beginning of your period.

Since you have been getting your period for seven years and this has never happened before, it is essential to seek medical advice from a healthcare provider. They can conduct a thorough evaluation, discuss your medical history, and possibly perform tests to identify the underlying cause of these changes. These days several online platforms are available like Doctor MD, Plush Care, Ongo Care, and many others. Those platforms can provide you with online consultation from the comfort of your own home.

Unusual discharge with odor, cramps, and spotting could indicate an infection, hormonal imbalance, or leftover blood from your last period. Since this is a new experience, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying conditions and get appropriate treatment.
