I'm 21 and my period has never been regular. My mom and grandmother both had irregular periods as well, so it may be hereditary, but my sister who is 24 is regular. Sometimes I don't have a period at all (or I skip periods). I never know when I am going to start. A few weeks ago I spotted for two days and thought I may start soon but nothing happened and I did not start. I getwhite/clear discharge often, as well. Also, my eating habits are irregular. Last time I saw the doctor and told her of my symptoms she said it may be a thyroid problem at tested my blood but all the tests came out negative. Does anyone have a clue of what this may be? I have also been sexually active for 2 years and don't know if this has anything to do with it.

hi
i have the same problem in a way i dont have regular periods. i have mine once a year and it lasts 2 days. ive just finished a round of treatment where they said they didnt know except my weight. ok i am a bit overweight but i am big built anyway and if i lost just a stone it be fine. still doesnt explain the lack of cycle. ive had bloods, scans ultrasounds etc and they are still putting it down to my weight and nothing else. i know that his might not help but im hoping that u will get better news than meComment

The discharge is noraml its the bodys way of cleaning you know! Periods are effected by everything from your stress levels to exercising to little to much, your hormones all sorts of things . When I first got my period it lasted 7 days then 2-3 years ago went to 6 days now for a year it lasts 5 days . So getting older and your body going through changes also has an effect on your periods. You can go and should go to the gyno just to make sure nothings wrong but I'm sure your just fine. It doesnt sound like nothing bad . Birth control can really help with irregular periodsComment
