Ok so about 2.5 months ago I got what I thought was a yeast infection (I had had them before so I self diagnosed). There was a lot of pain during sex, discharge, itching... the regular symptoms. I cleared it with a 3 day monistat. Then about a week later, the symptoms came back. So I used a 1 day monistat (it wasnt as serious) but this didnt work so then i used a 3 day one after that.
I thennnn got a urinary tract infection! Went to the doctor, got the meds and went on my way. That went away, I had my period normally and then about a week after my period, got what I thought was ANOTHER yeast infection! So I told my boyfriend to go to the doctor because maybe he had it and kept contracting it to me... He went, got some medication, and was convinced nothing was wrong. (we have unprotected sex regularly as I am on the pill). So I cured mine with another 3 day +1 day monistat regimen.
After that, I started getting heavier discharge. I thought maybe another yeast infection but this time it wasnt as itchy and the discharge was more fluid and clearer. So I let my period just happen without doing anything in hopes it would reset the pH of my vagina. My period finished and then two days later I had some breakthrough bleeding. Nothing too serious I decided. But then the heavier discharge came back along with a strong smell from my vagina, it was extremely present during and after sex. Not a "fishy" smell, just a regular vaginal smell but extremely strong!
About a week ago my vagina started getting a little itchy, but nothing as serious as before. And the discharge just keeps coming, I have to wear a panty liner all day. So i thought maybe another yeast infection? I tried last night, inserting one ovule of a 3 day treatment. And then today I had some light bleeding, although it was very pink and not as dark as usual. Then tonight, my boyfriend started to go down on me but about 20 seconds in he stopped and said he could feel weird things in my vagina, kind of like mucous and hardened things and just gross...
So I'm not going to continue the monistat but I just don't know what to do!! My doctor is out of town until August 5th! So maybe I should go to a sex health clinic? I just am afraid of what they might tell me... Also, one other weird thing is that recently, during sex my vagina has been irregularly dry. Usually i am quite naturally lubricated, so I dont know if this is linked.

Have ANY of these symptoms or chain of events happened to anyone before? Im really nervous!!

i used to go thru the same thing...always go get tested for an std...its ok to be scared but its better to know than not to know...a friend of mine put me on a regime of folic acid, cranberry pills, along with apple vinegar baths. You also ways to drink a few spoons fo apple vinegar every night for a week or two. Earlier this year I tested positive for trico. Prior to being tested and after completing the meds I continued to have a discharge with a strong odor. I noticed the positive effects of the apple vinegar quickly. I cut out a lot of soda and sugary drinks and started with more fruits and yogurt. You have to be careful of what you put in your body because it comes out. The vinegar will help cleanse your body. Drink plenty of water of course. I have seen several other posts on this site out using a douche mix of distilled water and peroxide but I have not tried it out myself. Good luck!

I would definitely go to have some cultures done, esp. since the yeast treatments don't seem to really be helping. It most likely isn't yeast causing the problem.

Does your regular GYN have a Nurse Practitioner or Midwife in the practice that you could see? If not, I know Planned Parenthood will do STD screenings/cultures for you, and can even diagnose/treat bacterial vaginosis.

Your problem can be easily treated. Why suffer any longer? Don't be hesitant to go and get it checked, that is what the medical professionals are there for. ;c)
