    yeast infections

I don't get them very often, but when I do they are awful. I have done the Monistat 3, used the last one last night. Questions is...How can these be prevented. And they always seem to come at the worst time...like the weekend when you maybe want to do something with your husband. Just don't like them as I know no one else does...so please help, what to do. Thanks in advance for your imput.

    tips

Hi, I just got married and found a bunch of advice on how to prevent yeast infections. One way is to drink a glass of cranberry juice every day- the antioxidants kill bacteria. Also try to pee at least after sex every time, if not before and after, and invest in some "adult wipes" (like baby wipes but for grown ups)- use these after sex and any time you have been sweaty/dirty to prevent bacteria staying there. Think about what kind of underwear you're using too- if it's too tight there's no air flow and bacteria can take hold.

    Hope this helps!

um a natural home remedy that i've read about says to sit in a warm bath hip deep and add vinigar a "fizz bath" i think is the terminology used. It is suppose to rebalance your vagina's ph balance. probably good if you go on a lot of anitbotics. search it see what else ya find.

      good luck!

I was getting yeast infections every few months for a while and I found what I consider to be a magical preventer after getting really tired of harsh drug store meds.
Boric Acid Powder Capsules! They restore a healthy pH. You generally have to make your own, though there are natural food stores out there that carry them. Just buy a bag of OO gelatin capsules and a little jar of boric acid powder and fill them up. Pack the capsules loosely.
I have used them in two ways. 1) at the first tinge of an infection insert a capsule before bed every night until it is gone. Use a little vitamin e oil to lubricate it as it can sting a little bit if you don't. I have also used tea tea oil suppositories at the same time to ease any discomfort.
        2) As a preventative for women who tend to get yeast infections repeatedly, insert one capsule at bedtime for the first couple days of your period every month. DON'T use a tampon at the same time. You could also do it on a non-period day but I find it easier to remember by making it part of my menstraution maintentance.

I haven't had a yeast infection in more than a year

        Hope that is helpful

I used to get them all the time. I had one once that lasted 6 months. I tried everything, including yogurt tampons. I got a scrip for Diflucon (sp) and that works really well. One pill. No creams or lotions to mess with. When I started getting anxiety attacks I was put on anti-anx meds which I am still on. I have had 3 yeast infections in the past 5 years, instead of once a month. If you do have chronic yeast infections it could also be a herpes oral virus initial outbreak. You don't always get noticeable sores at first like they tell you.
