Young and no sex drive anymore...
I have always had a pretty high sex drive to the extent I kind of thought I had too much in late high school and early college. My boyfriend and I have been together for about 3 years. When we first started dating we always had sex. After about a year and a half I stopped wanting to have sex. I am completely happy with him but I just suddenly stopped wanting to do anything sexually. I had been on Yasmin birth control for about 3 yrs up until that point. I stopped taking birth control but I have just never been what I use to be. I don't understand what's wrong? I am only 23. I shouldn't be having this problem. I haven't gained any significant amount of weight or been and I haven't been pregnant. I don't understand. I hope someone could help. My doctor is not helpful at all. -
Yes, I do. Whenever we have sex I do orgasm but I just don't desire sex anymore. (And I WANT to!!!) Sometimes I get claustrophobic and have to stop. I never use to do that. It just kinda of started. We just use to have this crazy, awesome sex life and I feel terrible now. I know he wonders what happened... which so do I.
We've bought toys, lotions, movies, whatever... It use to be so much fun. I almost feel burnt out on sex. Why though?

Start with a physical, blood work up, hormones, most campuses have a clinic that can handle that. Rule out a physical cause first. Look at your diet, exercise levels, stress in your life?
Maybe switch to lots of cuddling and play. Get sensuous rather than sexual, see if that goes anywhere. What are you using for BC now?Comment

I'm not currently taking a birth control pill. I tried Ortho Lo first and it made me very fat. Then I tried Yasmin for 3yrs and I honestly felt crazy and depressed until I quit taking it. Then I tried Lo Estrin for a whil and gained weight and felt nauseous. My gyn said that some people just can't take bc.Comment

I wish I could help, but I'd just like you to know that I'm suffering from the exact same thing and I'm only 20. I had sex every day for a about a year, and all of a sudden it just stopped.. same boyfriend, healthy relationsihp, nothing wrong in my life. It just went away entirely, and he's been frantically trying to find the reasons for it, and I tried to explain to him that this just happens to some people and they don't know why. At least we're not alone! I'm really hoping that my sex drive will come back someday as easy as it went away.Comment

No sex drive reply
Wow... I never thought that there would be this many girls having the same issues as I am. I've been dating my boyfriend for a year and a half, and like most of you have said, our sex life has been amazing. I used to think it was unusual for me to enjoy sex as often as I did. But for the past few months, I haven't been able to enjoy it at all. Now my boyfriend and I are having problems because he feels it's his fault, or that I am not attracted to him, and that's FAR from the truth. And he just doesn't understand what's going on (but neither do i...)
I was on Nuvaring and stopped taking that, in case that was the problem, but so far nothing has changed.
I want to talk to a doctor or someone about it, but I don't know how to go about doing that, and I'm not sure if it would even help. I've been looking around for vitamins or "enhancement" pills of some sort, but I don't even know if those things work, and most of them seem to target women with menopause...

It's frustrating
I know exactly what you all are going through. I'm 29 years old and have been with my man for 5 years. Sex was crazy for the first 3 1/2 years and then all of a sudden things started going down hill. We went from have sex 6+ times a week to 1 time every 2 or 3 weeks. I have no desire what so ever to have sex. I'm not horny at all and I guess you can say that I have to be "jump started". I do orgasim, but I still wouldn't say that I'm really all that horny.
I have gone for blood work, and the doc said everything was fine. I asked if there was some kind of medication that can be taken and he said "if you were a man we'd be able to give you something but unfortunately, since you're a woman there really isn't anything you take."
My relationship is in a downward spiral. he thinks I've lost interest in him and I haven't I still love him as much today as I did 5 years ago. He is getting ready to kick me to the curb because I guess he's frustrated and can't handle it any more. He's unhappy, he won't even cuddle with me and it seems as though he tries his hardest to avoid me at all cost. He won't even wrap his arms around me in bed any more.
I too am on Yasmine and have been on it for god, a really long time. I'm starting to think that I'm stressed and getting a little depressed.Comment
