    Midnight frustration

So I had lunch with my partner today, and he reminded me of something that I thought you ladies might get a kick out of.

So he has always been a light sleeper, needs a pitch black room, sound-blocking insulation, and even wears earplugs. Even then he often has trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. This was an early conversation, before we really starting dating, before we even kissed, so I worried that when we finally slept together I'd have to pack up and go home afterwords. He was willing to try when it came down to it, and now says that he is more rested now, with me around and spending most nights with him than he ever has in his life so far. BIG relief to me as I am a cuddling addict and the thought of having to leave him after our usual nightly antics would be torture. I mention this as background to the story I am about to tell, as I suspect his light sleeping plays a role.

A couple months back, a couple weeks before Christmas, we decided to start experimenting with making wassail (an alcoholic holiday beverage). Something about that first batch we made knocked us flat (sleepy, not drunk) on our asses and we crawled into bed at 11, with only brief sleepy smooch, which is not very usual, but we could barely keep our eyes open. Well, a couple of hours, I wake up out of a sound sleep with him enthusiastically going to town down there. Didn't take me long to get on the same page, and about 45 minutes and two orgasms later I was never happier to be woken up in the middle of the night. After, he told me that he woke up in the middle of going down on me. I never really believed him, thinking he was just saying that so I wouldn't fuss at him for waking me up on purpose, which I wouldn't have minded anyway.

Until it happened again (almost) a couple weeks ago. We had again gone to bed without getting it on. He had had a really stressful couple days at work and I had had to stay home and study the night before, so he hadn't slept much. So I tucked him into bed with a kiss and curled up with him. Again, middle of the night, I woke up with his mouth you-know-where. Within about 30 seconds I was fully awake and aroused and ready to go. Another 30 seconds later, he stops moving, and I feel his head start to lean very heavily on my pubic bone. I just lie there, trying to recover as I hear and feel his breathing return to that slow, deep asleep rhythm. I quickly realized that he was not in fact going to wake up this time. I wiggled out from under him (he had me pretty well pinned to the bed) and hauled him bodily back up onto the pillows. He was completely limp, and not a terribly small man, so it took some huffing and puffing and rough handling. He didn't even twitch. I didn't have the heart to try and wake him up to finish the job he had started, though he probably would have made a gallant effort to muster the energy.

When I told him about it the next morning, he had no recollection of any of it, but he started apologizing profusely. I gave him a stern look that lasted for all of about 5 seconds before I cracked up and couldn't stop laughing. He said he went to sleep wishing he had the energy and will to get me off before we went to bed, and apparently his body took over after his mind checked out. He couldn't make it up to me then because my alarm has just gone off, which meant I had to get moving STAT or I'd be late for class, but let's just say that the following evening was awesome. ;-)

Just thought I'd share. Anyone else have the experience of their man sttempting, successfully or unsuccessfully, to have sex in his sleep?

My ex-boyfriend groped me once in his sleep ... before falling right back to sleep. We were sharing a hotel room with his best friend (awkward story) and he was having none of the "he's sleeping, he can't hear" approach. Of course he zonked right back out with his hand up my shirt. He wasn't in the habit of doing sexual stuff in his sleep, but we didn't get a chance to sleep together often.
He did have a bad habit of grabbing me like a woman-sized teddy bear and holding on for dear life about an hour before the alarm. Cute but uncomfortable.

Ok, I'm jealous! I wonder if there is something I could do to stimulate my boyfriend's subconscious where he would do things to me in his sleep

After the first time it happened, I told him he could wake me up like that any time he wanted to.

He has consciously and intentionally taken me up on the offer a few times. He says at these times he attacks me because he just woke up from a dream of going down on me or having sex, and decided it sounded like a very good idea. It is my absolute favorite way to wake up, and the middle of the night is the only time it happens, since I usually am the first to wake up in the morning. So on weekend mornings I usually give him that special wake-up call.

It's pretty common for me to wake up at 3 AM to the BF having an early breatfast down there. I like to hit the light button so I can startle him and see that little kid "got caught in the cookie jar" expression. Then I just tell him to "get back to work" and shut the light off.

When I hit the light earlier this week he looked up and said "The Cardiologist said it's good for lowering my cholesterol."

That sounds hilarious. Unfortunately he usually makes sure I have the covers pulled all the way over me (and him) so I don't get cold. Turning the light on wouldn't do much good, unless I had the coordination to throw off the covers and turn the light on at the same time, not likely since the switch is stiff and usually takes two hands to manipulate.

Though it might be helpful to let me know if he's doing it in his sleep...

There is a condition called sexsominia, in some case it can be serious if it involves abusive behavior - yours sounds delightful.

lol sexsomnia! I'm amused to hear that others are having similar experiences!

My bf usually does something every single night without fail in his sleep. Sometimes he'll start ripping my clothes off and start trying to fck me (and I wake up around this point), only to suddenly stop a few minutes later and resume 'normal' sleeping. Sometimes (like last night) he'll start trying to push my head down onto him for some oral (and I'll wake up bewildered wondering what's happening and why my face is in his crotch), only again to resume normal sleeping after a few minutes. Other times he'll grab me and hold me close, telling me all sorts of loving things (usually in his native language). He only recently started doing this on a regular basis, maybe the past 3 or 4 months. He's mortified that the next time he stays over with his friends that he'll start doing that to one of them, haha. But anyway, I've been thinking that this is the weirdest (funniest) thing ever.

While the actual attempts at sex in his sleep aren't too often, maybe once a month, yeah, it is pretty common for him to grope me or say slightly nonsensical sweet nothings to me in his sleep. Unfortunately, him talking will wake me up, but usually not in time to actually catch what he's saying. One of may favorites that I did hear though was "I'd never go outside if it was you", after which he nuzzled my neck. Not sure exactly what he was dreaming about, but at the time it sounded really sweet, like maybe he'd give up leaving the house if it meant being able to be with me. Which is a pretty big deal, he is a pretty social creature and LOVES to be outdoors.

One night this week he started shoving the covers off and grabbing my boob. I let him hold it, didn't move for a minute, then pulled the blanket back on because I was getting chilly (we turn the heat off in the house at night). He promptly shoved the blanket off again and hand returned to boob. This happened about 3 times before I finally gave up and just cuddled closer to stay warm. Woke up about an hour later quite cold, but was able to pull the blankets up that time.

I do love to share the things he does at night with him when he wakes up. Its fun to watch him blush. Sometimes he apologizes and sometimes looks smug, but we always laugh about it.

My guy has apnea so wakes a couple times in the night and then awake for good long before me. So I've grown used to him doing stuff in the middle of my sleep cycle. I find I think I'm half dreaming and then wake up enough to see he's doing something.

I can't ever get him 1st in the middle of the night. I sleep like a brick and sometimes snore like a bull seal (how lady like). I need 2 alarm clocks if I have to get up on my own.

But if he takes a nap I like to kneel over his head and wake him up so the first thing he sees is his favoite meal about 4 inches from his face. His regular "Oh boy, breakfast in bed" comment is about all I get hear till he's done. He likes waking up to that a lot more than his alarm clock.

My parents always told us "eat everything on your plate and be grateful."
                    He always does and is
