    new here--hormones gone wild?

I think my hormones are just going bonkers. Suddenly my sex drive is well, I am insatiable. Problem is I am not in a relationship right now, but let me shed some insight on my situation first.

I'm 49 and definitely pre-menopause (periods 3x year). I am the only parent of 5 yr. old twins --yes late bloomer here . I have been celibate for about 6 yrs. due to not being in a relationship b/c of exhaustion, lack of interest, motherhood stuff, etc.

A few years ago my ex-boyfriend (from now it's been 15 yrs. ago) contacted me out of the blue. He's 55 now. We were crazy about each other but due to a bunch of stupid things split up. I moved away from the area completely got married, got divorced, and eventually had my kids. We've been in email contact for the past 3 years and have spoken several times on the phone. We think about meeting and then get cold feet (the old maybe this is a bad idea, impractical, etc. ) and both back off. Then we seem to reconnect again. I know he dates, but he's not married or in a relationship. I have his home phone number and he has mine so no secrets.

We talked again last week and had a nice (but at times uncomfortable) candid conversation about our feelings about week ago and I told him I am planning on visiting another friend next summer who lives a few towns over. I live many hours away so this is a big trip/vacation type thing. Bottom line is that we are meeting up.

Anyway....ever since the night of our conversation I cannot stop thinking about sex with him. It's like my body has suddenly sprung to life. I was a sexual person before having kids but I was thinking my sex drive is supposed to be going down as I approach menopause not skyrocketing!!!! And since I'm not in a relationship I have to make do with myself.

I was at the point where I was getting quite worried I had some kind of problem but now I think maybe my body is just "waking up" after all of these years because of my feelings about the ex-BF. If KWIM?

Any thoughts? Thanks. And sorry it got so long.

If you haven't had sex in 6 years I don't think your hormones have gone wild, I think what you're feeling is normal. Most people need to have sex, and you've probably put that need on a shelf, but it's back now. Go for it!!

Oh my goodness, after 6 years I would be out of my mind. I would say this man is in for quite an experience when the two of you do get together!!
It is good to hear that the hormones are still raging at 49. I'm 37 and I hope to keep the same ravenous appetite for sex going for many more years! Nothing wrong with it at all. The days of the young 20's having all of the fun are over.....personally I never even had orgasms until 36. The cougar years are the best (although I am not into the chasing young men thing lol)
Good luck to you and don't ever regret having a healthy appetite for sex!!

I want it daily at 33 and always heard 40s are the peak years for women. My guy always says I'll kill him in 10 years but he can't think of any other way he'd rather go.
