But then I started thinking... what if the things I'm experiencing aren't true orgasms?

The feelings I've had vary quite a bit. Sometimes it feels like a big shock followed by many smaller ones, after which it often hurts to touch my clit. That happens when I use only my clit.
Then I have the warm-melty feeling. Sometimes my boyfriend will tie me up and not let me use my hands, so I think I get a G-spot orgasm... it feels like something just builds up and gets tense, then gets really warm and melts all over the place. I'm so tired after that happens.
The last one I'm pretty sure is an orgasm, it's when I touch my clit during sex, usually when I'm on top. It's sorta a combination of the warm-melty sensation with a million shocks. I don't like my vagina or clit to be touched after this, and I'm usually quite tired.

Do these things sound like orgasms? Sometimes when I just touch myself, the feeling gets too intense and I stop after I feel a couple shocks, but I never know if those shocks are the orgasm, or if I could've kept going and gotten something more intense. But I get scared... weird as that sounds...
And often time, as the feelings during sex start, I'm never sure if they're finished or not, because my boyfriend comes shortly after he hears me (I'm quite loud) coming, so I don't know if it was an orgasm and I was done, or if it could've kept going and been better.
Either way, it feels amazing, so I'm not complaining or anything like that. I just want to know if these feelings are in fact orgasms.

Then again, I've also heard that "if you have to ask, it's probably not it".

    What do you guys think?
From what I've read it's a realease of sexual tension/energy.Female or male we all feel it in some degree, but it's different for everyone. For me ejaculation and orgasm are two different worlds.Sounds like you are having fun run with it!
