Not much in favor of it myself. But each has to do what is right for them.

I think that, if "two" people want to wait, then why not.

If "one" wants to wait and the other "doesn't" there is a problem, mainly because it will eat at the person who wants to try, and create frustration and probably fights.

The one thing I don't like about not experiencing sex before you marry is person is the equality.

That pending on the extent of "virgin" the person wants to be, in-other-words, if you experient with oral and touching, expressing, kissing, tenderness, roughness what ever it is you "both" end up agreeing that you like, it helps. But, if you don't express anything at all and then find out that he hates oral would never touch you, for an example now that he has started to experiment, after marriage but you love oral and all types of sex you may be in for a sexual mismatch.

I am only using the above as an example.

I think that you have to "trust" the person immensely that he/she is telling the truth about what they feel is okay and what is not, if you go to the extreme of virginity.

        Hi CW,

I totally agree w/ U on that. Just wanted to know what people thought of it this day and age. I heard some saying that the no sex before getting married is becoming popular again and that especially w/ men. So I guess that was a minority huh???

        Later,

I would never marry a woman I hadn't slept with. Both because I see sexual compatibility as quite an important thing to know about before committing, and partly because it would raise all the other questions of why, religion, stunted development and all of that.

i dont understand the wait until marriage idea. sex is something there is a limited supply of, and if you love each other isnt it just reinforcing that love. sex with someone you care about is so beautiful, tender and wonderful whether it leads to marriage or even heartache why wait?

Im the try before you buy kinda girl, you have to know that you can connect and things first its like going on a blind date with a friend of how ever long and realising that its not really what you wanted at the end but your stuck. Thats my opinion though everyone is different i guess.

I've done the sex before marriage and the no sex before marriage and it was a disaster regardless. But the no sex before one was worse.

I use to be heavily engaged in a religion which didn't allow sex before marriage and frankly discouraged it even after marriage. Not only were younger people running off to get married so that they could have sex, but married people became very unhappy because of their hasty decision. I had friends who were petrified during their wedding night after discovering their husbands' horny behaviors. Sex was so mystified and suppressed that it caused some very large problems.

I believe it's healthier for people to take sex as it is--a basic human behavior--and not allow it to have such a mystical meaning.

I can certainly say that marrying a catholic man its been interesting. He certainly doesn't follow the no sex before marriage rule. He is much like me in the fact that he would rather try it before you buy it. Its interesting to see how your sex drives match up and how things are between the two of you because one could be really great in bed while the other could just be really bad or maybe not want sex as much. so I can always say that sex before marriage is a great idea and there is nothing wrong with it. I also say that young men and women should be more educated about sex. Being educated about it takes all of the guessing about what its like out.
