    Thank you Tex. I think that is a great way to explain it. It's very different when something is more than just what someone looks like. I know the attraction still has to be there, but attraction isn't always just physical.

      I'm only trying to explain to HD that a man's interest in porn usually does not indicate he is unhappy with his partner or their relationship. Viewing porn and solo masturbation are about physical arousal and there is no emotional element involved, and she therefore shouldn't worry about being inadequate for him.

      Whether or not she should be happy with their compromise or should ask him to stay away from porn entirely is a different matter. I don't think she has any reason to worry but I also don't know how important porn is or is not to him. I can't really relate because I've never been in a similar situation. I find most porn boring and rarely every look at any..and so I've never had a girlfriend complain to me about it.

      I don't think it should be a big deal for him to just leave it alone if it makes HD so uncomfortable. But I'd also be concerned that it becomes too easy to 'ban' things that make the other person uncomfortable.
